Probably get 3 per day. I really am astonished that people can even begin to believe them.
That said, I guess that's why they are still sent.0 -

My wife has won $10,000,000 on a lottery.
All she has to do is give them the bank details & respond by the 26th May.
They still keep reminding her the money has been sitting there for 2 months.
But as the interest rates are so low at the moment & banks are so insecure for amounts over £60k I guess its better off in a foundation & we will collect it in a few decades time....Not Again0 -

Yeah we all would like to believe it but then we wake up and have to go to work and stuff.
Point is, I am absolutely astonished that anyone can even begin to fall for these scams.
Have people lost the plot?0 -

There is a handy sticky post at the top of iwiwiw which can help alert us to scams like these and other comp scams
The whole point is that these type of scams rely on naive or vulnerable people (who don't use MSE!)
Some people trust what they read - some are more sceptical, but by asking on here it lets others become more aware that these emails are still doing the rounds.
I think Mel now knows if it sounds too good to be true then it usually is - so no need to labour a point.Jo x2007:£5181.09 2008: £6619.70 2009: £4284.49 2010: £5213.14 2011: £4980.62 2012: £3188.52

Well if I am staggered by the fact that people can still apparently fall for these scams and post on a board asking if they have won half a million quid, then 3 posts in one thread is not unreasonable in my view.0 -
Hey everyone, mel has only been using this website for 7 months so is still a newbie. Lots of people get emails like this but is there really any harm in her asking!
No one deserves to be treated like alot of you seem to be treating her, it's nasty and i thought this is ment to be a friendly site ! It appears to be OK if you are a select few.
This tread does not appear to be friendly and maybe Mel should report the nasty people for bullying, I for one will happy to report alot of you.0
