Hiya, I bet that felt really good to sit and talk and be open

Its funny but you me and Sillybillyme are all at the same level of debt, I too will watch your diary :)
You are doing really well and just so you know the feeling of control doesn't go, not even when you are dealing with cr*py phone calls

It did feel nice, I thought he would be opposed to it and maybe a little bit angry that I had brought it up, turns out he had been worried too but too scared to bring it up :rotfl:

It is good that we are all around the same level of debt (well, not good but you know what I mean :o), the mutual support is the main reason I started a diary, is nice to know you are not alone and others out there are going through similar problems. Will subscribe to your threads in a min, am just getting used to navigating my way around atm :)

Bad news is that I went to see DS's nursery (where he has to go for 3 months before starting school) yesterday and signed all paperwork, confirmed charges etc. It will be £150 per week for him to attend full time, payable weekly  This might be a bit of a struggle for the first few weeks as I don't get paid until the end of June.... Have to work out a way around that as my rent is also diue in three weeks and they won't budge on the payment date

i know how you feel when everything seems to be due at once especially when you are struggling for money!!!!

i had pre school fees this week for £128!!! (that is a term though)
i cant wait till september when he gets the government grant and i wont have to pay :D

Right, have sorted through all the boxes and the amounts are a bit different to what I first thought - and there are some additional debts that have been forgotten about over time. Am going to tackle them all because although some of them aren't chasing me now, I don't want them to suddenly appear later on when I think I am doing well :rotfl:

So my new SOA looks like this:

As I said previously, the Council Tax has gone to bailiffs (although as we moved lately, they haven't caught up with us yet) so that has to be a priority.... I am going to write a letter to the council and see if I can appeal to their good nature :rotfl:

    Evening all :)

Had a bit of a blow out today :o Am justifying it though as it was my last weekday with DS before starting my new job and I wanted to make it fun and special

Spent £5.53 in McDonalds - his choice, not mine lol and £5.50 taking him swimming, also bought him a bat and ball set from asda for £4.00 which we played with when we got home... had so much fun, am going to really miss him on Monday :(

Anyways, transferred £3.00 into ISA this am so have kind of paid towards it :rotfl:

Letters all gone to creditors, just waiting on responses now ;) Gonna enjoy the rest of the weekend as Monday brings work and stress (more than at home lol)

    Hope all ok :)

    xx

I use the Make £10 a day challenge to fund luxuries - look at the sig !!! Suggest you do the same....

Have I missed something... are you going on a DMP? Apologies if I have? I think the hardest thing about dealing with your debts is that you have so many debts....

If you are struggling to find that £500+ you in theory have available for debt repayment... perhaps try a spending diary!

    Good luck!

    Hi Sue,

Yeah, he did enjoy it even got him signed up for swimming lessons :) I think it felt different as I was more aware of the money I was spending, whereas before I would have paid and not even thought about it - every penny was noticed... I guess thats a good thing tho :)

Haha and theres nothing wrong with MaccieD's, I prefer Subway tho but that is an expensive buttie :rotfl:

    Hiya Savingholmes,

Thanks for your comments, yes I do need contents insurance, it is one of the jobs on my list that I have not yet got round to

Its not that we are struggling to find the £500 as such, just that up until recently we only had one wage coming in so all money coming in went straight back out again and we couldn't even manage minimum payments on debts (if we wanted to eat and have a roof over our heads)... All that changes as of this month as I am starting a (reasonably) well paid new job on Monday and my first payday is end June. The SOA is based on what we now have coming in so haven't really had chance to see the £500 yet IYSWIM....

Will have a look at the make £10 a day challenge, looks like you are doing really well from it :D

    Thanks again,

    xx
