How do i keep my wife 'clean ' ?

Have recently been dischareged and naturally mr credit report is the pits.
I have'nt dared request my wifes who had a pretty good report prior to my own bankruptcy.
Will her credit rating have taken a` tumble as we live in same property etc.
WE do have a couple of joint loans-mortgage (by skin of teeth kept the house) and one other ,which were impecably maintained through my bankruptcy and are marked as no late payments on my own report.
It was simply failure of my business (wife not involved in it ) that caused me to default on my personal credit cards and lead to bankruptcy.
I guess we are inextricably liked but has anyone any tips how to preserve a good credit rating for my wife-or will i have in fact 'brought her down with me' no matter how hard we tried to keep our financial affairs seperate. ?

Hi, be careful if your wife does request her credit report because it will ask if she is financially linked to anyone and if she enters your details, then you will be linked and it's bound to have an affect. It is likely you are linked anyway if you already have some joint loans/mortgage etc but best to err on the side of caution and don't reconfirm the link as it were.

Your wife could try the above, I did it just out of personal curiosity to see what was on my file after my BR.
best thing your wife could probably do is actually just keep on making repayments on time etc and not apply for any new credit because if she does get declined, that will lower her score.BSC #215/No.1 Jan 09 Club0 -
I think she can put a noticeof disacosiation(sp?) on her credit file if she is linked in any way.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0

But only if you sever ALL financial links.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0
