'Hob Friendly' roasting tin

I need a roasting tin which will fit a large chicken into it but it has to be able to go on a gas hob so i can do OS gravy!

I have been recommended a Mermaid roaster

Does anyone out there have a brand/type they could recommend; it needs to be quite robust!

Thanks in advance:A

Don't think you will go wrong with Mermaid. Aren't they the ones Delia recommends? The Harts prices seem good compared to Lakeland.

I have the Meyer covered oval roaster from this range -

TK Maxx sometimes have Mermaid roasting tins - I bought one from there recently. Worth having a look.

  • Thanks peeps, I shall be near a TK Maxx tomorrow so will have a look. Always forget they do household stuff! Like the look of that Meyer one as well.

Did you have any luck in TK Maxx? I think I got my Meyer one in Debenhams but it was years ago so can't be sure.

Hello, if you didn't find the one you wanted in TK Maxx, here's another one you might consider. We bought one about 6 weeks ago. Really pleased with the quality - nice & sturdy. Both the lid & the base can be put onto the hob. I even used it for cooking chilli con carne the other week - fried everything in the base first then stuck the lid on and put it in the oven to finish off.
