I've won...but....

Hey all

I've just had a letter throught the post to say I've won 2 tickets from Veet to an exclusive performance of a band in London.

However, I can't go!!! It's on a tues night, and for me to go I would need to stay overnight (I live 3hrs train journey away). And I have very important work stuff on both the tues and weds  so there is absolutely no way I can attend.

The letter says to ring/email to confirm attendance, and would need to provide ID on door.

What do I do now?!!

Gutted, as even though I'm not a massive fan of the band in question, it would be a good night out (for free!).

Any advice please?

Though I've just been playing round with train times, and if I can finish work early on tues, and the gig finishes before 10pm (starts 6.30) then I could possible do it by train in one day, but it would mean returning home at 3am!!

Something similar happened to us a couple of weeks ago, a MSER won tickets to the hannah montanna concert in london but couldn't make it. My 7 yr old daughter is a massive fan so we gratefully took the tickets from her.
We drove to London from Liverpool which took us 4 hours each way !
We didn't arrive home till 3am, but it was well worth it. My dd still hasn't stopped talking about it.

I think it really depends on how much you like the band.

    Good luck xx

I don't mind giving them to someone else if I definately can't go but I'm not sure how that will work cos you need ID to prove who you are.

It's not a normal concert, it's an exclusive gig in small place - private performance.

I have a friend in Croydon who loves the band so would take her or give her the pair if I can't go.

flutterby I have won tix for the same gig, I got a call yesterday from closer mag. I got the distinct impression the id was to prove your over 18 to be honest so that might not be such a big deal if you were to pass the tix on to your friend. I am still trying to work out a way of getting there myself as it has fallen on my nephews birthday which has literally ruled out both of my usual babysitters / gig companions (mil or sil) and oh has a stock take going on at work and wont be able to get home in time for me either grrr ! So currently working on thinking of a new plan !!
Thanks to all posters and contributers

I just emailed them and have been told tickets are transferable as long as I provide the names of 2 people in advance and they are over 18.

My friend in Croydon is ecstatic (sp) at moment!!! She will have both tickets if I can't go. Won't find out from work til Monday as I'm off today and so are the bosses.
