The beauty of the Liteon 5005 standalone DVD recorder is that it will record on all the main formats including DVD-R and DVD+R. Which Liteon do you have? I also have the Liteon 5005
My Liteon 5005 gives a thumbnail menu on DVD-R as well as DVD+R.
So, which would be best to go for in the future?+R or -R? Which is going to be the Betamax of the DVD world?0 -
Simple just get a new Pioneer or NEC drive for instance and it will do both formats including Dual Layer disks (yes even more standards). The drives can be bought ofr under £50 at https://www.svp.co.uk - who are a very good , reliable company. I have used them for many years (also one of the cheapest places for media too).0

DVD+R not so bad, and you can back up your DVD-R copies if you wish (but you will need DVD+R blanks to write too).
Don't try and do a "disk copy" of a DVD-R it won't work.
You need to get a program like DVDDecrypter and then do an "ISO READ" from the DVD-R to create an image, then do an "ISO WRITE" to a blank DVD+R to create a copy.
Quite a simple process, once you've done it once it's a breeze.
