  • I think the CAB and CCCS are swamped at the moment. Try the National Debtline as other people have received help straight away.

Hi I know that the CAB here in Carlisle is snowed under, I requested a debt appointment the first week in april and only got a call yesterday to tell me that they had a free appointment on monday!! one step closer i suppose... I'd just keep trying or maybe ask if they can cal you if they have any cancellations.. Good Luck

    Hi Shirley.

Dont know which area you are under but apologies anyway, all agencies are overwhelmed at the mo,

Just keep trying and make sure you have all your details, info & questions ready for when and who you eventually get through to.

    Best wishes.

Keep at it Shirley, I made my first drop in to CAB back in Jan, had 2 more meetings one in March the next in April, followed by BR yesterday. As previous posts have said they are snowed under, the people in CAB down here were ready for an increase but cant believe how much of an increase.
Go with the Scottish one first, and explain the situation, they should put you in contact with the nearist one you will be with when south of the border.
    Cheers Dibs

    Hiya Shirley
Our local CAS(Citizens Advice Scotland) was naff! The chap we eventually saw was about as much good as a chocolate fireguard!
I used advice from CCCS and spoke with a lovely lady from National Debtline(Scotland)
I then found a debt advisor as listed on the Money Scotland website
    http://www.moneyscotland.gov.uk/das/das_display.jsp?pContentID=173&p_applic=CCC&p_service=Content.show&
    ..they were excellent!
    Good luck!

    Thanks Izzy
Think I may try the same route as you did,not getting anywhere really and just sinking further down !
Lost the flat I was after so back to square one, they wanted me to do the 1000 mile round trip for an interview would you believe ?
Can't understand some people, they wouldn't have my cats anyway !
Will have a go later tonight.

    Thanks........Shirley
