OMG!! I didn't think of that!!! I did find the other definition ages ago when i was looking for the snowball calculator that everyone was on about
WARNING : DO NOT Google it on a work computer!!
I use the snowball calculator on whatsthecost.com .
Snowballing is paying off the highest interest debt first, then the next and so on, and pay the minimum on the others. the assumption is that you set aside 'an amount' for debt repayments each month.
PADding is making a Payment a Day. I don't quite do this, but it seems to happen most days, depending on the 'change' left in the accounts.
Chick, you could try following all the advice that's usually given out here - meal plans, spending diary etc, but i know what you mean. My salary varies by +/- 50 per month, still haven't figured out why after 9 years!. On paper this month I had £188 spare (which was going towards our holiday), but did I see any of it? I seem to have lost £100 somewhere along the line. But what does work for me is to have a second bank account, get them linked to one card, at least online. I transfer my shopping, petrol and cash bills money into there, and then the other account is for all the other bill / debt payments and (rarely) savings. I have online control of most of my other debts, so that i can make silly tiny payments when i feel like it.
Wow, what a ramble!!
Thanks Sammy I will have to look into this further, I should have had spare this month but its gone and i am so frustrated about it! I just want to be financially ok!!! but hey once your in this mess you need to get out!!!
Ive got my easy cash account which i love but i really need to change everything over to my current account which i have opened as i was finally allowed one!!! i suppose i could do that this month before payday then take it from there!
then i can take your advice about using one bank account just for bills etc. I have even bought a little cash tin so i can lock my purse away with all the cards, and just take out what i really need to! desperate measures!!!0 -
it should be renamed as Salad Tossing

I dont wish to appear uninterested in the thread but must deviate. How did you manage to get an avatar that moves? (Sorry, but Im a sucker for things like that) To OP, good luck with the snowballing. If it gets your debts paid of quicker I guess it doesnt matter if you addicted. Im hooked on poker, thats far worse!!
Edit: I just googled it and now wish I hadnt!!:smileyhea0 -

It's a simple animated gif.
Try Googling "Animated avatar" or "animated gif" or similar.
We are severely restricted in filesize. Maximum is 80x80pixels or 14.9kb (not much) so it is a struggle to find one suitable.
Have a look here
Right click on the one you like and choose properties, ensure it is 80x80pixels and 14.9kb or less (like this one).
Then simply change your avatar in UserCP0 -
At it again!
If I can pay just £7 more, i cut a month off the capital one!!
YAY! Death to Capital One debt!! :rotfl:Oh for Goodness' Sake!! Here we go again
