    Thank you Mrk (Mark?) and Fengirl for the help. I realise I am sailing close to the wind with my income hovering just beneath the threshold. Mind you, that allowance goes up each year doesn't it? 80% of my outgoings are postage.


    It's fantastic to be able to get answers so fast - how I love message boards. I give back by answering questions on publishing for newbies on other forums.

    sorry to impose on this thread,just a quick question
    my partner is self employed and has been getting maternity allowance since january,while filling her self assesment online,there dosen't seem to be anywhere to put in the maternity allowance she has been paid,any help would be appreciated

    This should go into box 14 on page 3 the main return (SA100). It is headed Other taxable state benefits.

    Not sure how to enter it if you're filing online, though.
    If it’s not important to you, don’t consume it
