  • Hi avon is catalogue distributing which means you put catlouges though people doors and pick them up, deliver their items you have your own patch which is given to you by who ever signs you up, it can be hard to get a lot of streets it depends on your area manager as they often refuse to give you any more inless you have enough sales with the streets you have got.

Its 29 percent commision if you sell over 78 pounds
nothing if you sell less than that,
25 percent if you sell over 120

they have a new brochure out every 3 weeks
    they call these campaigns
ypu place a order every 3 weeks , delivery is free to your house, if you place a extra order (say if your customers dont want to wait) u will be charged 2.50 each time.

You will have to pay for brochues and bags.

You have a 'rep' magazine every 3 weeks with your main order with selling tips and product info ect
i love reading mine plus you get to see and buy the new products at discount prices

it is hard work collecting and delivering catlouges i'm sure other people in here will tell you that
it is better if you have lots of friends who like avon lol.

To be honest i dont think you can make a part time wage out of it inless you became a sales leader

that is someone who signs up people to join avon then you earn a commision on THEIR sales but theres loads of pros and cons tothat aswell like paying out for adverts ect ....

I'm not a sales leader and i only do avon really for fun i cant say i earn any cash out of it as i just spend my commision on products for myself.

i hope that has helped a little
if you have anymore Q im always on here to help

I do Avon and love it! I was given a large area by my Area Manager so manage to get good sales, making it worthwhile doing it, especially as I'm saving money on toiletries, make-up etc that I would normally buy anyway.

It's 20% for over £78 of sales (I think a typo in the previous post!)

But no idea about being a sales leader, sorry, but I would think it might be better to be a rep for a while in order to know how things work, before becoming a SL who has to guide new reps. Easier to teach people once you know what you are doing yourself!

You do need to buy your books, and bags - but the books you can use twice, as you can have part of your territory on the new books & the rest on the "old" books, as you can back-order from the previous book. This saves you money as you aren't buying as many books each time, but it also gives you more opportunities for creative ordering (prices/offers vary from book to book) so you can order things at a cheaper price & pocket the difference, or there may be a free gift which you can keep for yourself or give a customer has a gift. People run there own offers occaisionally, like a free gift for orders of over £20 - with your discount you can get things for £1 or less, or use things you've acquired for free anyway - it helps to keep people interested in ordering, and increase your order amounts.

If you have an area that is very keen on Avon then it isn't that much work for the return, as I've found - but it obviously isn't a huge amount. However, as I say I love doing it, especially as it is also saving me money on things I would buy anyway, and will mean I can get birthday & Christmas presents a lot cheaper too!

I love Avon lol always buying from them ect.

So what you are saying is:-

If i make under £72 i make nothing from it?
And everything 3 weeks i have to pay for more catalogues?

I have spoken to a Sl, On sat, who didn't tell me any of this, She said that i only pay £12 registration fee?
I have got to call her back on thursday, My only worry is, i'm doing betterware atm, but i dropped out to a hole street on monday (Last week) and got no order's, so i'm worried Avon might be the same?

Or i get order's, and they are only mine lol!
    Thanks peeps xx

So what you are saying is:-

If i make under £72 i make nothing from it? Yes - but you'll be surprised how quickly you get to £78, ordering books counts towards this total as well (although obviously you don't get commission on those!)
And everything 3 weeks i have to pay for more catalogues? You are provided with books for your first 2 campaigns, but the amount varies depending on the person giving you them - that is what the sign up charge is for. When I put my order in this time for C7, I ordered books for C9, you normally order books 2 campaigns ahead so that you have time to look through and see what offers there are. Books are sold in packs of 5, for the first 3 packs (15 books) it is approx £4.86 - BUT after that point it is 48p for a pack of 5. I order about 85 books each time, which is plenty to do my territory of 180 houses + friends/family, as you will also have the books from the previous campaign to use also. Even after taking the costs of books off, and things bought for myself, I still make a healthy profit each time.

It could obviously be the case, but tbh, we had a Betterware book the other week, and I can see why you got no orders, yes there products are similar to those in Kleeneze, but the books really aren't attractive! I just put it right back outside after having the quickest of flicks through! Avon sells the obvious make-up, shower gels, bubble bath, moisturisers, jewellery, sun cream, bras & knickers and lots of gifts to - why not request a brochure off the website (it's free and should be with you in a few days) then you could have a look through and see - if when you look at it you see lots of things you would like - probably a good sign that other people will to!

Might be best to see if you can find out how big a territory you would be given if you were to sign up? And think about how many people you already know that you could give a book to - friends/family etc, and ask them to show their work colleagues/their friends.

Or i get order's, and they are only mine lol!
    Thanks peeps xx

You could deliver Avon books at the same time as Betterware - BUT only if you are given the same territory, Avon is the same as Betterware and you are given set streets to do, so you can't do any others as they will probably belong to another rep!
