bankruptcy and overtime

Evening everyone,
I'm new here, My wife and I registered for bankruptcy on 30th March 2009.
This may seem like a stupid question but does the official receiver take into account any over time you may clock up after you've submitted your SOA. I don't want to be dishonest but I don't want to work for nothing either. Any advice would be gratefully received.
Thank You

Welcome to the boards Luke.
You should tell the OR about any overtime you do although if it's only short-lived, it's unlikely they will take an interest in it. It also depends on how much of a surplus you have as to how much you will have to pay them should they decide you need to - you'll never have to give it ALL to them
Hope this helps a bit
Cheers

Depends on the OR I guess and how often it is. Mine said if it happened a couple of times then it wasn't worth him collecting it but I've heard of others where they've insisted on collecting it. I'd give your OR a call to be honest as that's what I did every time I earned any extra money until eventually they said if it happens a couple of times then I didn;t need to notify them.

Thanks for replying so quick! Much appreciated.
I've been offered a new job after being out of work for over a year, I can earn up £200 extra a week in overtime. Am right in assuming it's probably not going to be worth it0 -
Earning that much per week, I would imagine your OR would definitely be interested in it. It's worth making the call to them to find out their stance - some feel it's not worth the hassle, others want everything - then you can make your decision.Get free advice before embarking on bankruptcy: CCCS 0800 138 1111 National Debtline 0808 808 4000

Thanks for the advice everyone, you've all been really helpful.0

As a guideline our OR said anything around £80-£100 a month they wouldn't be interested in and we didn't need to tell them, above that we would have to declare. But as mentioned above, all OR's are different
