Shocking competition winners' behaviour !!!

I recently completed a ski trip to Meribel, France with Crystal Ski in this competition. (Thanks kipper!) It was fantastic, and included flights, airport transfer to the ski resort, and accommodation in a catered, shared chalet. We got 1 room and ate with the other guests in the common area for all the meals. We brought our own ski equipment and paid for lift tickets and had an excellent time at this beautiful resort.

While we were there, there was another couple in an adjacent chalet who appeared to have won a similar prize, identical except for the inclusion of free lift passes, a pair of watches, access to the British Land Championship races and meet & greet sessions with the athletes. Unfortunately they did not appreciate the prize. Our chalet hosts told us the story on the first nite of how this couple was surprised to discover, upon arrival, that there were other guests staying in the other rooms of the chalet (didn't look at the Crystal website, it seems, which says rooms are rented on a board basis, and the chalets sleeps up to 14 guests). These winners were not skiers and had nothing to do at the ski resort except perhaps um, walking, mountain biking, swimming, shopping, and the ongoing comedy festival! They complained so much to their chalet hosts, who were cooking for them and cleaning up after them, and escalated their anger by threatening to sue Crystal for "mis-selling them a holiday" :mad: (even though they got it for free). The Crystal representatives, being courteous and professional, abode by their wishes and arranged their transportation back to the UK on the second day.

Unfortunately, competition winners did not have a good reputation in the chalets during the week of our holiday, so we did not reveal ourselves that we had also won our holiday.

Aww thats awful! SOme people have no gratitude at all! I wouldnt act like that about anything I hadnt paid for out of my own pocket.

If I won a free holiday (even as a non skiier) I would be grinning ear to ear the whole time! Would probably even splash out on some skiing lessons, lol!! Anyway, those guests were VERY rude, it sounds like a dream holiday...

Gosh, some people are never satisfied. If they were upbeat optimists, yet still somehow felt they were handed a lemon, then surely they could have made lemonade!?

talking of ungrateful winners - today we went to a preview screening of the new disney film race to witch mountain - won from our local paper, anyway the prize was for 5 tickets and it said that there would be a goody bag under all the seats - so we were all excited as we were told that we were some of the first people to see the film as the premier wasnt going to be on until the afternoon! anyway it seemed that everyone in there were winners from various newspapers etc so we were about to go in when the family in front stopped the promoter and asked quite abruptly "what about the disney goodie bags?" I just thought that it came across badly as we hadn't even stepped into the cinema so it wasn't as if we hadn't been given them - it just seemed so ungrateful. Anyway the film was great we all really enjoyed it and we were given our goodie bags on the way out, I suppose some people always want to push for more.:j

I used to work as a chalet host and unfortunatly we used to get people like that all the time.. hope it didn;t ruin your holiday! well done!!
