I was seriously thinking of the Acer aspire 1642 WLMi from ebuyer At £539.95.- as recommended by someone on MSE . Did i not read somewhere to be wary of buying from ebuyer?

I would also be wary of Acer the tech support is none existent.

There's also a 1642WLMi (V2) at Comet for an extra £10. However, if you go through Quidco it works out cheaper.
Buy the three year warranty from eBuyer for £55!

Yes, Comet are mainland UK only at the moment. Both the site you mention and shopacer.co.uk are well-regarded though.
