I think it all depends on what fruit you use as to how soggy it is or isnt in the middle. Very juicy fruit makes a pudding slightly more soggy.2008 Comping ChallengeWon so far - £3010 Needed - £230Debt free since Oct 20040

I am going to try the leek and bacon bake without the leeks but with sweetcorn and broccoli as my ds only eats these veg. Perhaps I can make half and half, one side with all the things I eat and the other just broc and sweetcorn..
I made the fruit cobbler with a tin of strawberries (minus syrup, which went into our yoghurt drinks) 38p from Sainsburys. It was yumsty with a tin of economy custard. Reminded me of our school puddings many eons agoMy waistline could not take that more than once a month I think!!

Spendless wrote:your boyfriend:eek: . Have you manged to conquer him at last into eating different foods. Well done :T
Hi Spendless / Guys ,
Sorry this is my work PC so i can't read anything over the weekend Shhh don't tell my boss
Spendless,
Yes he is trying bless him, but he actually will eat veggie soup and he loves it but still won't eat veggies on there own(The word you are looking for there is FREAK :rotfl:)..
My Soup was as follows:
2 x medium sized Carrots
2 x " " " " Onions
2 x Sticks of Celery (Soft and on it's last legs)
200g red lentils (Brought ages ago and sat at the back of the cupboard)
1 x tin Value Tomatoes
1 x Lemon
1 x red pepper (Back of the fridge)
3 pts veggie stock (I'm rubbish at making stock so just bought some Tesco's value veggie stock cubes)
Thats all :j
Splodge a bit of oil in a saucepan and chop roughly the veggies and stirfry on med-high heat for about 20 mins, add the tin of tomatoes, lentils & stock and leave to simmer for about 35 - 45 mins.
thats it, blitz with your hand whisk thingy & add half of the lemon juice stick the other half in the dishwasher
I assume you could just whack in what you wanted if you didn't fancy any of the stuff i put in, i was going to put loads of pepper in as i love the taste but be warned it is quite peppery anyway, not sure if it's the lentils or not
Bowl it up and enjoy with some nice HM bread :beer:0 -

Black Saturn,
I made your cobbler last night with help from the kids and it went down a storm, tesco value peaches and a tin of cheapy strawberries.
They scoffed it down with custard! :T0 -
I've just made the chocolate mousse and put raisins in with it. I'll let you know what it tastes like.
I've also got another easy budget recipe coming up for omelettes you make in the oven!! I've got to try it first though to make sure they are OK.2008 Comping ChallengeWon so far - £3010 Needed - £230Debt free since Oct 20040
