I am eager to try out the malt loaf recipe, but I havent the ingredients at the mo, its a very inventive recipe, does it taste like soreen, all the malt loaf recipes i know have malt extract in, just wondering how it gets that malty flavour without it.
How did you come up with it BS?Pawpurrs x0 -
It's not as dark or as malty as Soreen but it is nice and moist (I used sultanas). I'm guessing the malty taste comes from the weetabix, if you like it malty I'm sure you could probably add some.Dum Spiro Spero0

Years ago my mam used to buy big jars of malt extract and it was eaten off the back of a spoon, yummy. Condensed milk was another favourite, not now though.“Ordinary riches can be stolen, real riches cannot. In your soul are infinitely precious things that cannot be taken from you.” - Oscar Wilde0

Malt extract, AFAIK, you can buy it in health shops and you can use it as a sweetner. It is like syrup and can be added in like molasses/treacle etc to a cake or whatever you are making. Don't know the cost of it though.“Ordinary riches can be stolen, real riches cannot. In your soul are infinitely precious things that cannot be taken from you.” - Oscar Wilde0 -
