Bankruptcy Fee Increase 2009

Hi all - apologies if this has already been posted - did a quick search and couldnt find it but Fermi feel free to shout!

As from 06 April 2009, the Official Receivers deposit is to rise by 15.00 and will now be 360.00. The court fee is (as far as we know) staying at 150.00. Therefore the total fee payable on a debtors petition will be 510.00.

The OR doesnt usually offer a 'grace' period when introducing new fees so anyone going bankrupt on or after the 06 April will have to pay the increased fee.

We only got notification today Sarah but we are at the other end of the country so it may be possible that some of the OR's in other parts of the country will be allowing a couple of weeks grace with the new fees - definately worth checking though

SSA - I've always thought it bizarre how expensive it is! Hope you are well x x

I thought the cost of living was going down with deflation (thats what the boss said anyway when he told us we weren't getting pay rise this year!).

He lied. Prepare to see inflation rising sharply due to the government injecting more money into the economy through quantitative easing. :D

I rang Brighton and they confirmed it is going up to £510 w.e.f 6th April - the date of our BR:rolleyes: typical!!

Still no cancellations for this tax year so we'll also get the nil tax code.

Mind you it will all be worth it in the end:D

It will be worth it in the end. Funny how the increase more or less coincides with the start of the tax year

    Good luck

  • These OR's know when they are onto a winner. Price by demand. The more demand the higher the price. The only sector who is increasing its employment is the public sector. I wonder what happens when the bubble bursts.
