  • I have £26 left over from my wage and I know I wont need to spend any more money until next pay day (Friday). So I can use this cash to overpay on my loan. However, £26 seems like a drop in the ocean when you consider I still have £2775.56 left to pay. But if I only managed to overpay by £26 a week, over say 6 months, thats £624!!! So if you look at it that way, it's actually quite good. (not quite sure where Im going with this post, think Im trying to motivate myself hahaha).
The thing is, every penny counts, and i just feel like im not pushing myself hard enough. I mean, I never overspend on my wage, and I always have surplus income each week. But small things like buying a McDonalds or something equally petty, can all slow down the battle to become debt free. And if I was super strict with myself, Im sure I could get there a lot quicker. Then when I do get debt free, i can have as many McDonalds as i like!!! and it wouldnt be an issue (other than getting fat).
Is anyone else pulling the stops out to get there quicker? And how important are these small purchases when added up over time?? Any help/ tips appreciated

  • Stopped smoking on Friday!! That should save me some dollar. On day 3, and finding it easy to be fair. Thought it would be a struggle when I went for a drink on saturday night, but was pleasantly surprised! i guess you just have to throw yourself in at the deep end, to find out that nothing changes when you dont smoke (apart from things being better that is). Had numerous previous attempts which all failed, but something seems different this time, i just know i can do it.

Crappy day at work today, felt like a robot, but hey its a job and that aint bad in these times!

Have £99.40 left over from my wage this week, so that will all be going into the loan on friday, happy days!! Feel like im headed in the right direction...just dont seem to have much for myself at the moment...
