I've been bad!

As you might know from my post on the Getting OH to propose.. thread, I'm not even engaged but I walked past a charity shop today and saw the most gorgeous wedding dress in my size...

It was a monsoon dress still with the £250 tag on for £50 and no marks.

I tried it on in front of my OH (we are not superstitious) too!

It has taken all my strength not to buy it!!!! It will be someone's dream dress but for me it wasn't quite the one (but it was darned close!). It was sooooo hard to resist the bargain though! I had to wave to it as I left the shop!!!

I looked thin in it too!

I know it wasn't the one but I feel emotionally drained - i think from realising I can look nice in an ivory dress, that I looked less lumpy in it than i thought I would (although I would have needed to adjust the chest area as I am not as well endowed as the dress expected!) and from leaving behind such a bargain!

I can't believe I tried on a dress in front of my OH before we are even engaged! I am sooo bad! Luckily he says he is relieved at my taste!

You never know, it might just give him a nudge and put him in the mind to propose:D

There will be other dresses in charity shops and when you find one, I am sure there will be a local dressmaker who can adjust it for you.

Good luck and don't fret about being bad. Being bad is streaking down the road or worse, trying on a dress in front of OH isnt so bad.

U think that's bad - I bought my wedding dress 2 years before OH even proposed! We did have 2 children together though so I thought he was a pretty save bet! It was just the one and reduced from 1.5K to £350 in a closing down sale. 3 years later I wore it on our wedding day and felt beautiful :)

When you are secure in your relationship you are safe to show your nutty side. I think it's a good sign that you felt okay to do something mad like that.

I too am waiting for my partner to propose. I asked him if he minded me visiting a few wedding fayres and he was fine with it. :D

haha my OH would KILL me if i showed or tried on my wedding dress in front of him lol i wish we weren't superstitious about that because he is the one person who would tell me his honest opinion.

You never know it may nudge him :)
