Are they really obvious before you open them? 
I confess to just deleting a lot of emails I think are just newsletters etc... without opening them
so I'd hate to think I'd missed out on something :rotfl:

No, they are not always obvious.
Some have 'You are a winner' in the subject header, but I have had ones that look like newsletters and then in the email they name the winners (of which I was one).
So I always scan my emails (including ones identified as junk) before deleting.
