Thanks for the birthday wishes, Butterfly Brain!
Another thing I missed off my list - I now make homemade soup to take to work as well, since the sandwiches I've been taking into work the last 2 years are now somewhat bored. Home made soup seems to work out cheaper than sandwiches somehow! Maybe I'm just buying the wrong bread. This is not an automated signature - I type this after every post.0 -
Ooooohhh what a useful thread! This is what I have done this year:
- Online shopping which has really cut our food bills (use discount codes too)
- Packed lunches
- Switching off appliances at night (still trying to encourage OH!)
- Stopped going into town at the weekend saving in travel costs, random spending and eating out
- Growing own fruit and veg
- Stretching meat
- Baking
- Putting on the heating for less time and at a lower setting
Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -
Great Thread!!!
Since finding this site, I have:
- Meal plan and bulk cook with extra individual portions being freezed.
- Save money for clothes, bills, christmas/presents, car costs etc in saving accounts
- Use energy saving lightbulbs,
- Make use of freebies (have got tons of toiletry samples and am using them up before I buy more
- Read the papers at the gym and not buy them
- Take lunched to work 4 days a week - lunch at work costs £2.50
- Bulk buy things that I would actually use when cheap using BOGOFS and 3 for 2's
Snowy owl:j I feel I am diagonally parked in a parallel universe :j0
