Creditors not helping

Sorry to be a pain again

Tried CCCS advice and rang a few of my creditors today explaining the situation that I dont have anything left after paying essential bills

Offered the token £1 till things improve

Was basically told to P Off by a few
One even said that if i dont come up with a suitable payment arrangement they are selling my debt on in the next 4 to 5 months

Greedy Greedy Greedy they have already charged me 29% interest over the past 10 years

Looks like Bankruptcy is my only option but scared of that

    Hi betterlife2009,

I have the same problem with my creditors, I have sent them the same letter about 3 times and speak to them everyday because they call me I explain the situation but they dont listen, I pay them what I can afford but I have now been advised/decided br is the best option for me so I am going to stop paying them now.

what makes me laugh is that on the bottom of each letter it says "if your experiencing financial difficulty please contact us" what a joke!

    Hope your circumstances improve soon.
  • Cant see things improving

Applying for paid jobs at the moment but the unemployment is carp

Trying to get some decorating/handyman work in but it is slow

I cant understand that the creditors would turn down an initial token payment on the bias things will improve

They are the ones pushing me to bankruptcy and if they want to loose £60K collectively they only have themselves to blame

I am not looking for an easy way out just understanding of my situation

The creditors are bullies, they will try & force you to pay as much as they can get .Just stand you ground, they would raather have something than nothing at all .

Have you called http://www.nationaldebtline.co.uk/.. They CAN help you ./ In the meantime send your creditors the £1.oo. There is a sample letter you can download off the above link .

betterlife2009........... look at your user name - isn't that exactly what you want?
If you are trying to avoid BR purely because you are scared of it, please try not to be, I was certainly nervous but now on the other side of it I just wish I had done it sooner.
A lot of people (not on here) will think that repaying your debts is the honourable thing to do. It is, if you can afford it. If you can't then you have to look for other solutions and put yourself, and your health first.

    The BR hearing

    Hi there betterlife,

I hope you are feeling a bit better today, I know all about the too many lows and not enough highs that I imagine you are feeling at the moment.
To answer your question the BR hearing consisted of me sitting in the court waiting area, my papers going in - my papers coming out and that was it.... I didn't even see the judge. It took a total of 1hr and 10 mins from walking in the door with no idea what was to come and walking out with a typed, stamped BO in my hand.
Please don't worry about it - it really is a relief.
I thought I would be solving my problems with a DMP, but it worked out at 13 years!!! My job is far from secure, and I thought NO WAY, CCCS agreed and I went for BR.
I am a single female, did it on my own with help from here and never looked back. When I do get a "shaky" day people soon set me right on here and I am OK again.
Hope this helps, and Good Luck.
