So they made a net profit of over $4.18bn in the last quarter.

Is it me or does it seem a bit ludicrous that when a company makes that kind of money in 1 quarter, it still feels the need to slash jobs?

I was told about this from a UK employee. I believe there will be some impact to UK folks.

  • Microsoft received several millions or billions in Hank Paulson's bank 800 billion dollar bail-out last September, part of the "pork barrel" incentives to senators' pet projects to persuade them to vote for Paulson's scheme. The money was to be for R & D, allegedly.

In fact if i had 100 billion dollars i don't think i would be happier than i am now, the problem bill gates has is that it is probably impossible for him to get rid of his money now.

Are you out of your mind man? OK, you may be very happy right now, but surely 100 billion would a certain little extra to your life? For example - you could employ a team of people to write crap on here, and do something else instead.

I am happy now but i have been happier. I think if i had a million pounds i would be happy but if i had 100 billion pounds i wouldn't be happier than if i had just 1 million. It is difficult to discuss this as i will probably never have 1 million pounds so i am just guessing how i would feel. The happiest i have ever been (apart from my children being born) is when ole gunnar solskjaer scored in barcelona in 1999. Nothing will make me happier than that.
