I remember my Grandma used to give us Rosehip syrup on ice cream which was gorgeous, I've found this recipe: http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/womanshour/food/recipe93.shtml0

Right, that's 3lb of plum chutney made too.
My neighbour has just brought round a dozen eggs as she is going on holiday tomorrow and they need using up before she gets back. Was thinking of using some to make lemon curd, is there anything else along those lines that I could use them for? Not enormously keen on pickled eggs.0 -
Orange curd, grapefruit curd, passion fruit curd, raspberry curd, apple curd.0

Ooh apple curd sounds nice (and I have some Bramleys), do you have a recipe?0

I love this time of year. Just made plum chutney, greengage jam, damson jam, tomato chutney & got some damson gin on the go so that it'll be ready for Christmas.2025's challenges: 1) To fill our 10 Savings Pots to their healthiest level ever

We went for a walk on Saturday near OH's temporary Cardiff home and came home with about 7lb of sloes, which are now in the freezer waiting for me to find a demijohn for the sloe in
There were loads still to ripen, and qute a few that were falling too.
We also found a damson tree, but as that was after a bit of path next to a ferocious dog's garden and after a thicket of calf-height brambles, I decided we'd not bother with wild damsons this year!2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

do a google search for rosehip recipes, i did this and copied and pasted 12 pages worth of printed recipes for all sorts of things from jam, wine, chutney, candy and so on and so forth
i've also noticed that the rosehip puree i made tasted like a sweet cherry tomato puree of sorts (fuller body not as tart) so i'm planning on trying rosehip puree as a substitute in curry, chilli, possible spaghetti bog sauce and for my tomato and coconut soup
i'd give you the links for my recipes but i just copied them into a word document and didn't save the pages (i'd never find them again in my massive collection of book mark folders anyway!)0
