We are having garlic nan (home made by OH); quorn/chicken korma (jointly made courtesy of the takeaway night recipe on here
); baklava (made by me).
And to drink - ice cold pepsimax
As this is one of my husband's favourite meals (although I really like it too), in return he is going to be subjected to Groundhog Day (both When Harry met Sally and How to lose a Guy in 10 days were firmly vetoed)

Hi Zed,
What you have planned sounds lovely. I've added your thread to the valentines meal thread so you can browse what everyone else is planning.

Sorry for not seeing this sooner, its pork steaks/chops dipped in beaten egg and then breadcrumbs and fried in butter. There are various ways of making it, sometimes using veal, adding spices and so on, but I like it simple.Grocery budget in 2023 £2279.18/£2700Grocery budget in 2022 £2304.76/£2400Grocery budget in 2021 £2107.86/£2200Grocery budget in 2020 £2193.02/£2160Saving for Christmas 2023 #15 £ 90/ £3650 -
Hello, I got my Valentine's meal today. I wanted to spend no more than £10 on a three course meal so this is what I got .....
Starter: Fresh prawns to make prawn cocktail;
Main: Mussels in garlic sauce with spagetti;
Pudding: Meringues with fresh fruit (apple, banana, kiwi, plum, pear) and fresh cream.
Everything came to a total of £9.32. I am so pleased, a three course meal for less than £5 each (and probably more tasty than eating in a restaurant and spending a fortune). Brilliant .....Mortgage FreeSave £5,000 in 2020[CENTER:j0 -
A full English cooked breakfast in bed for my OH is all I can manage now we've got kids. For some reason I find it impossible to cook a romantic meal now. OH did mention getting a chinese, but I growled at him because of the expense and the crush that there will be at the local take-away with everyone having the same idea.
EDIT: Just cooked spag bol for tonite, so looks like it'll probably be chilli tomorrow night with the leftovers, not very romantic.....but could be verrrrrrrrrry hot!!!!!0 -

What a brilliant idea.......alas there is not often any wine left over with us!!!!!
Thanks for the tip.0 -
Hi everyone!
I am hoping to cook/make dessert tomorrow, but was hoping to use up the 100% cacao bar that has been taunting me. Not really sure what to make as I'm not the best cook. With 100% cacao, will I need to add lots of sugar to any recipe? It's the Willie's Venezuelan black bar, so I feel I should attempt something special..but easy!
Any suggestions much appreciated!Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

I got one of those heart-shaped frying pans from Poundland and plan to suprise Oh with a heart-shaped fried egg on toast in the morning. The romance!
For the evening I've gone for the Waitrose £10 meal for 2. Not very OS but at least for MSE than going out for the Italian I had originally planned.2015 wins: Jan: Leeds Castle tickets; Feb: Kindle Fire, Years supply Ricola March: £50 Sports Direct voucher April: DSLR camera June: £500 Bingo July: £50 co-op voucher0 -
We decided not to do gifts, just cards, and spend the money on a slap up dinner at home.
So we're having fillet steaks with pepper sauce, potato rosti and veg (likely mange tout or green beans, and a portobello mushroom), followed by OH's famous choccy puddings (the kind that stay gooey in the middle) with clotted cream. All washed down with some nice Cava.
After that, who knows...
