thanks to dc and trevor john, i was able to buy from my local store in the midlands, none of the stores near me have them in stock but they will send one from the norwich store to me for wednesday next week... hopefully their service is not as pcworld where they sell the product even though its been reserved/sold....

to explain it short - dead pixels are black dots on the screen or stuck on one colour (I think?)
(thats when they become dead pixels - that certain point on the screen is no longer working)0
