Update on Tesco's & Visa Electron

UPDATE
I wrote to the new chief executive re the electron card and was informed that it would be looked into. Today received a reply quoting all the excuses and nothing will change. I replied that I couldn't understand how Asda, M & S, Sainsbury, etc don't seem to have a problem so why should they and that obviously competing for customers was not a priority. They are millions in the red and yet turn away customers. Doesn't make sense.Nancy 16 Membership No 147

Which banks card are you using? I've never had a problem with tesco's or any other online retailer with the cards from my basic account, I've used the debit card you get with the basic barclays, nationwide and Natwest accounts and no issues at all! My barclays debit card even works at the pay at pump at tesco's. Maybe you should find a better bank account rather than waiting for tesco's!

I have used my Co-op debit card [visa] online with Tesco, no problems.....not that I buy very much, if at all, from Tescos anyway. No, I don't think all other drivers are idiots......but some are determined to change my mind.......0

I changed the electron card as advised by Tesco to a debit card which was refused. I was advised by Tesco that although the card had been upgraded, the first group of numbers on the card indicated it was electron. Perhaps he got it wrong, would never surprise me.
So I will put in an order, use my card again and see what happens.
