It's a funny old world

Good evening all,

We were discharged in August 2007 and shortly afterwards I applied for our Credit Reference Files. Not surprisingly there were a lot of errors and I wrote the appropriate letters requesting that our files be updated.

After another couple of months I again applied for our CRF's and unsurprisingly some had been updated; others hadn't.

I wrote to the ones that hadn't updated our files and pointed out they were in breach of Data Protection blah, blah, blah, and if they didn't update the files I would refer the case to the Data Commissioner.

In April 2008, after again perusing our CRF's I referred all errant ex creditors to the DC. In December 2008, we received confirmation from the DC that they'd written to all our ex creditors and we could expect our files to be updated accordingly, but don't hold your breath.

This morning we received a letter from one of the creditors, it was a store card that I didn't know my O.H had, apologising for taking so long to amend our CRF's, and wait for it:

Vouchers worth £50 in consideration of their tardiness in amending our CRF's.

:j:jHow cute is that?:j:j

    Hi Waspy,

Just noticed your smoke free date in November. I relapsed after quitting in the summer but I haven't had one since the day before New Years Eve.:eek:

Really well done Rich !! The stop smoking thread is still alive and kicking on DFW if you want to pop in at any time!

I relapsed after 3 months :( .. went camping with some friends and just took one without thinking and it went downhill from there.

Back on the champix again and so far so good :D

I got £20 off O2 mobile today because I argued about cancelling a contract when I `d been with them for years!! ...still cancelled & still got £20 reduction off final bill! :j

Always ask for gesture of goodwill for their inept-ness (is that a real word??).

Well done Rich...& well done for smoke free 2009 ( I gave up in 1983 !!! & always think that if I started again now then I would have wasted all those years of abstinance...)

I don't think I lasted much more than a month to be honest. One of the girls I worked with took pity on me, and asked me to join her for a smoke every time she went out.  I'm sure she was trying to be considerate and helpful.:D :D

I watched the Alan Carr DVD and that was very encouraging, and then I stumbled across a piece of work by an American author that looked as though Alan Carr had based his book and clinics on, and it was excellent. Very in depth and thought provoking; I'll post a link to it.
