Hi intergalactic floozie just want to wish you luck on your journey and ask if you ve tried to swap credit cards to 0% deals ,there are still some out there even in these times .It would save you alot on interest and this could then be paid extra off the balances, with no heart ache so you win all round.
Good luck on your journey.

I tried for the Virgin 0% card but was knocked back, so don't know if it is worth risking my credit rating by trying to apply for another one?Start Date: 27/11/2010
Padding: Day 42
Target £8000
Amount: £562.230 -
I've just applied for the Post Office 0% for 12 months card, which is from the Bank of Ireland, but they "cannot give me a decision at this moment and will contact me in five working days". I'm not applying for any more yet so will just have to knuckle down!Start Date: 27/11/2010

Ooooh monday's wage is showing as available in my account!!
Day 3.
£1.70 - Now Magazine (cash)
£1.20 - Closer Magazine (cash)
£1.89 - packet of bacon.(cash)
£4.79
Paid gas and electric bill, which I had been putting off, until the last minute - that was £220, so my meagre savings are wiped out.
Will be making a £40 cash withdrawal as I have a night out tonight that I can't get out of.
I also have £20 cash in my purse.
Won £5 to my football pools account. I played a game called Midweek 10,and only got 3 predictions right out of the 10. But unbeknown to me they had a game where if you beat their pundit, Tony Cascarino, you won £5 games credit and he only got 2 right (I got 3) so was pleased to see an extra £5.
Have done my spreadsheet and as of now I have 812.41 available to last me until January payday. This is much more than normal as I had £220 overtime, and also 2 lots of child benefit in this four week period so would normally only have £500 spare so my aim is to make sure I have some left.
As of Monday I also have a £20 morrisons voucher to collect as part of that offer they have been running for the past four weeks.Start Date: 27/11/2010
Padding: Day 42
Target £8000
Amount: £562.230 -
Hello!
Couple of ideas for you...
Could you get your celebrity gossip online? Saves you the cost of the weekly magazines. You could also start a magazine club with a friend where you buy them week about. That way you at least save 50%.
Another idea for magazines could be saving Tesco clubcard vouchers towards subscriptions. I got one for Marie Claire using my Ipoints.0 -
Day 4.
Night out was good. Withdrew £60 cash instead of £40 and then left my cards at home. so I went out with £80 in purse, but came back with £37. That was £43 spent of which £17 was the remainder of the meal, and £10.20 was on taxis, so £15.80 spent on drinks, so I am quite pleased with that.
Today I have spent £93 at Morrisons on grocery shopping but I am ashamed to admit that £7.44 of that was spent on Magazines and £0.49 on some pencil crayons for DS1 for school (not ashamed about the pencil crayons, DS1 admitted he'd been getting into trouble with his art teacher for only having one shade of green! - Now he's got 5 LOL)
I've got £699 left in bank, and £37 in purse.Start Date: 27/11/2010
Padding: Day 42
Target £8000
Amount: £562.230 -
Day 5
Right, I have my first two bills to pay out.
Minimum payments for this month I have estimated to be £565 over the seven debts.
My Tesco Credit Card came in. Total Owed = £2717.66 (credit limit is £2750).
The balance at my last statement was £2704.26 so It is more than last month by £13.40 so not a great deal but it is £32.34 less than I thought it was in my first post so I will adjust my signature accordingly.
My Snowball calculator tells me I have to pay 81.53 but the bill only asks for £81 by direct debit, so I will transfer that 53p to a seperate account to pay towards the Alliance & Leicester biggie. I know it's not much, but it's the one I pay the most interest on.
Second bill is £120 to my HSBC account to pay off my overdraft. This is a fixed figure. I now owe £680 but there will be about £20 interest to add onto that sometime next month (also the total overdraft was £19 less than I said it was in my first post)
Also phone bill came and it was £5.15 less than last month so I will ferret that away into the A&L payment
Spends today:
£1.00 sent to school with DS2 for raffle tickets
£2.00 towards a new boiler at work.
£2.50 for a breakfast butty (kicked myself for this one)
£27.82 on petrol (will last about three weeks)Start Date: 27/11/2010
Padding: Day 42
Target £8000
Amount: £562.230 -
Well done on getting organized. Shame about the breakfast butty! Agree with previous poster about the magazines, they add up hugely. Isn't MNBA that is your highest interest debt?
BTW why are you contributing to your workplace boiler??CCs @0% £24k Dec 05 £19,621.41 Au £13400 S 12600 Oct £11,981 £9481 £7500 Nov £7250 D £7100 Jan 6950 F £5800 Mar£5400 May £4830 June £4660 July £4460 Aug £3200, S £900, £0 18/9/07 DFW Nerd 0420 -

I am going to make a concerted effort not to spend as much money on magazines definitely! Especially slimming magazines. I kind of hope that reading them will make me slim (and I know breakfast butties certainly wont!!)
I have to contribute towards the boiler because otherwise we wouldn't have one in the office. There's a kitchen on the third floor (we're on 1st floor) and we are an office of 30, so we're too big for a kettle. Hence getting the water boiler tea urn thingie.
Yes MBNA is the highest interest debt, I think I only knock something ridiculous like £20 off the balance when I only pay the minimum!Start Date: 27/11/2010
