Found cheaper item after I'd bought

Apologies if I'm not in the right place or if I can find the answer somewhere here, its my first hour on the forum and I'm a bit disorientated!
I bought Fable II for my brother for Christmas. It cost about £40 from play.com. Now Gamestation are offering it for £19.99!! I emailed play.com and asked if I could return it unopened(I bought it three weeks ago). I have not received a reply, I've emailed twice, and I don't want to buy the cheaper copy until I know I can send the other one back!
Am I allowed to return it?

Thank you! I thought I was being very canny buying everything early this year and being prepared, but going by previous years I do better financially buying everything in Christmas week!

Why not take it back to a store and look pleadingly at the sales assistant, you might get away with it?!

Not sure play.com has a high street store.

Reading the play.com returns policy... while it does say you have 7 days to return an unwanted product for a refund, right at the top of the page it says:
Returns Policy


Our returns policy is valid for 28 days from receipt of an item.

• Our returns procedure

It may well be that they will accept the return, but only give you credit or an exchange. If you go into your order history then details of the order you want to return, try to go through the returns procedure. You need to act quickly though, as time is running out. Maybe give them a call. If they try to fob you off mention the 28 days it says on the web page. They are usually open to reason. (I have just returned a game too, for the same reason, but it was Fallout3 )

Assuming you have the cash flow.... Gamestation offer a 28 day returns policy on unopened goods (in the store not sure online). If you can afford it you might like to buy at this price in the hope you can get play to accept the return. If not then you can get a refund from gamestation. Just a suggestion, as I am sure this price won't be around for long.
