Well there seems to be a good sized bunch of us now! aged 26 + members are welcome to join in the chat, i was just curious to meet other of simular ages.

How are we all dealing with the debts, I know i cant sleep some nights! But have given myself the boot up the backside to start dealing with them for my daughters sake!

HappyTails, congrats on your pregnancy!! Do you know what your having yet? whens bubba due?? I know what you mean about your house, it costs me £60 a month according to my supplier!! theres mould and drafts the landlord wont do any work on the place its falling apart! even the inch thick wallpaper that covers all the cracks in the walls has had enough and started falling off!!

HannaB Well done for getting yourself out of debt!!

My aim is to get all my debt paid off before i go back to work full-time so i can concentrate on getting my credit rating improved and buy a half share house from the council. As a single mum i reckon thats the only way ill get on the housing ladder!!

Although if the market keeps crashing like it is..

    I'm 21 :)

I cleared £3k in six months thanks to the lovely people here and now helping my parents get rid of theirs.

WOW that is fantastic, how did you do that?

I am 24 and mummy to a 13 month old and about 11K in debt.
  • Hi, I'm technically too old for this thread being 26 ;) But my wage and situation is of someone probably younger so I'm going to join in anyways :)

I don't have responsibilites or mortgages or people who are dependent on me so it should make it easier for me to find money to pay off my insignifcant debt? But it hasn't seemed to work like that in the past. Part of the problem of the debt is keeping up with the friends, trying to make the most of being young and being in the above situation. And I've said that to myself for the past couple of years... I didn't get into any more debt but didn't get myself out of debt anyhow... took on a 2nd job to earn extra cash and decided that I would use it for holidays instead... well I've enjoyed myself up to this age and now to get on with tackling the debt!! Difficult when I'm on a low wage, but still doable!!

    Good Luck :)

:rotfl: I get IDed everytime I get served!! It's ridiculous - I never had any problems when I was 17 ;)

I am now too old for this site (28!) but thought I would let all you young'uns know that I still get ID'd for buying alcohol, cigarettes and entrance to clubs! I was never ID'd when I was 18 - it only really started when I reached 26ish!!

    Long may it continue!!

i'm 19 with a full time job and no rent/bills to pay.
why am i here? i have just under £2000 debt and that's before starting uni and having all that debt to worry about too. i owe money on my car and my credit card and being a spendaholic doesn't help.
just before logging onto this site i guiltily opened yet another parcel of clothes from my most recent online shop.
    i need help!

I get ID'd quite a lot. I was ID'd in Sainsburys last week, and when I finished paying the guy said "I still don't think you look 18". I'm 21! But the day before that I bought an alcoholic present for my sister's birthday in Debenhams and didn't get ID'd.

I hate being in debt, especially when I have no job! Luckily it's no credit cards, only 2k worth of overdrafts (2 of them, one interest free). I hate being on benefits as it means I can't pay off my debts quickly or at all. What I wouldn't give for a job, even if it was just for a month! I'm trying to get into the TV industry and it is hard.
