I have a nice wipe clean tablecloth. It's not a totally plastic wipe clean one, but a proper white tablecloth that has an acrylic coating (& wasn't cheap
)
The label says 52% cotton, 48% polyester, acrylic coated, & it can be washed at 40oC.
My darling DS is never very careful when doing his homework, and has, on several occasions, 'missed' the edge of his page. So my lovely white tablecloth is now decorated with little bits of green, blue & red felt tip (washable - yeah right!) & crayon (the really thick creamy kind).
I tried sponging it off with kitchen cleaner, as that's what I normally use to wipe the cloth down. Nothing happened. Then I washed the whole thing. And the marks are still there. HELP

I have the same kind of tablecloth and the same kind of kids! I find abrasive things the best and they don't seem to do damage but try in a corner first to double check. I usually use Jif and pan cleaner as I find that gets everything off everywhere, good luck, hth0

I've got the same problem -green paint or felt tip on my lovely Cath Kidston oilcloth. I can't get it off.
I ended up buying 2 cloth ones, but they're stained just as bad now and I seem to spend my life washing and ironing them:rolleyes:
Our table is very battered and scribbled so I like to keep it covered.0 -
I've got the same problem too - I have oilcloth, and it's my spaghetti sauce that's caused the problem.Proud to be dealing with my debts :T

Annoying isn't it? you buy these things because you think they'll be easy to keep clean -just wipe. And they're not:mad:0

Bleach didn't work on mine purple ivy. I got the thick stuff, and left it sat there for a couple of hours. It faded - slightly, but that was the best I could do.Proud to be dealing with my debts :T

You might have some luck with wire wool. It takes off a lot of wax crayon that's been on paper.
