KnittyNess' Debt Free Diary

Hi all,

I have been a member of this site for over a year now but only now do I really feel ready to deal with my debts. I was reading one of the diaries on here and it has really inspired me to document my debt free journey.

I lose motivation so quickly. It's just spend spend spend with me!

I will do a full SOA tomorrow when my brain is in full working order!

My debts are made up of a couple of credit cards and a couple of overdrafts. I really want to save up a deposit and need to clear my debt first. It annoys me that my rent is £600 a month which is practically a mortgage payment!

First off I am going to go to letting agent in the morning to get some money back from landlord as I paid for BT line to be fitted- that should be about £100. I will put that straight to debt.

I also plan to do 2 dooyoo reviews a day and save up for the cash option if possible.

I have also taken up knitting and everyone will be getting knitted gifts this Christmas!

Wish me luck!

  • Well I cannot find my BT bill that records the line rental cost. Not a good start. Tried to register my BT account online but only got halfway through and it told me to come back later! So, my job for tomorrow is to call BT and hopefully get a copy of the bill emailled or posted to me.

I just remembered that I also have some expenses to claim back from work which totals around £100 so I will sort that out tomorrow as well.

Hi NessyNoo just wanted to say Good luck! I hope I'll be brave enough to start a diary soon, think it would be a kick I need.

I think you should crack on with it! I am going to do my best to stick to it this time! I am fed up of paying interest and rent to a landlord when I should have my own home!
  • Hello me.
Not managed to speak to BT yet today so still need to sort out that bill.
Have rung share company to cash in shares- they are sending me a cheque out. It is not a lot as I only started saving in May time but I figure I can clear my Amex card with that amount so that is one less debt to worry about.
Going to do 2 more dooyoo reviews today. I already have 8 ratings since yesterday- I have no idea if that is a lot or not but they are bumping my points up so that is good!
I am going to list as many of my debits and APRs as I can in my siggy tonight so I can see where I'm at.
Other than that work was slow and I have to study for masters tonight so looking forward to weekend!
  • Hello me.
Was too busy yesterday for an update. Hoping to have a NSD today. Yesterday's spends were £600 rent, £588 for Amex (which has cleared that card), £12 for xmas party ticket and £22.50 for a wax (I get a student discount now- woo!)
Still need to phone BT. I am off to do my Dooyoo points now.
Other than that my day will be spent knitting a cushion cover- I only recently started and I am finding it very relaxing plus it stops me from getting bored and wanting to spend money. I also have some studying to do- boo!
