The 'Get It Done' Challenge!!

Options
Hi everyone

I was sitting here and thinking how bored I was with moneysaving and debt clearing. I can't do a challenge to clear any debt as I am on a DMP so regular overpayments can be dodgy and if I try to save anything then something ALWAYS comes up and I end up using those savings.

So I realised that the one thing that I really need to sort out is my problem with getting things done. I am terrible!! I come up with all of these ideas and plans and NEVER get them done!! Yesterday, I was going to do all of my washing, clean my boys' hutch out, hoover the house, clean the bathroom - did I get any of those things done? NO!!

I have always been the same, even at school I used to leave my homework until the last minute. But now it is time to change. I live on my own now so need to do things for myself. The problem is that I have nobody to shout at me and tell me to get these things done.

So my challenge is this. Each Sunday I am going to post a list of tasks on here that I have to get done in a week. No arguments, they have to be done by the end of Saturday. I will then post new tasks every Sunday and little updates in between. If I am not getting these things done then I really need someone to shout at me!!

So, my first lot of tasks to be completed by the end of 22nd November are:
  1. Clean my boys' hutch out
  2. Do all of my washing
  3. Change the bed
  4. Hoover the house
  5. List at least 5 things on Ebay to finish on Sunday 23rd November
  6. Get enough points for another £20 Amazon voucher on Dooyoo for christmas
  7. Get to £300 in my AQA account
  8. Complete the 2 mystery shops I've got lined up and try to get another 2
  9. Start my auntie's Christmas hamper
  10. Post off 2 Ebay items.
I think that will do for my first week!! Time to get cracking.

If anyone is as bad as me and would like to join in then the more the merrier - we can shout at each other!!

  • Sounds like a good plan Emily!!!

I'm fairly good normally at getting everyday things done - but there are some things (eg ebaying my DD's clothes) that I don't get round to - they're still in a bag in her wardrobe:rolleyes:

So I will join you if that's ok? My list is:

    1) List my DD's clothes on ebay
    2) Clean my oven (a job I detest!!!)
    3) Do my paper filing

Think that's enough, on top of my regular jobs, for this week!!!!

Hi, I will also join you if that's okay.

1....Start packing and cleaning out cupboards...(Rented property, having new bathroom, kitchen etc....work starting Dec)

2....List items on e-bay....as many as I find when clearing out.

3....Wrap xmas pressies and write cards.

4....Fish my knitting out and continue baby cardigan before grandson grows out of it

    5....Use excercise bike every day...(not for 5 minutes !!)

6....Read book before end of week.

I need to keep on this site and perhaps we can all give each other a kick up the bum when needed...

Ugh, this is another fabulous Emily challenge that I know I need to join even though I really don't want to! I'm the world's best procrastinator.

Ok, here's my somewhat eclectic list for this week, in order of priority (which is almost the exact opposite order to likelihood of getting done)

Do my tax return (or at least make a start)
Write to ombudsman about HSBC. !!!!!!.
    Empty the storage unit.
Decant several vanloads of Ebay stock to friend's unused study.
List stuff on Ebay that's just lying about on my desk
Do ironing (this probably won't happen)
    Go to the gym. Twice.
Mend the washing machine or find someone who can that's cheap.
Bully OH into laying a floor in utility room.
    Sort out my wardrobes
Wrap and post leaving pressie from work to a friend.
Arrange birthday party for DS in time for the 16th Dec.
    2 mystery shops
Collect something from Argos for MIL

Oh, and my parents are arriving on Wednesday for a week. So also to include:

    Strip and wash spare bed
    Clean out spare room
    Get wall hooks/mirror/pictures hung
Get all the Christmas pressies out the loft and wrap those that need to go back home with parents next week.

This list is likely to grow and grow each day.

    P.S. Don't forget...

    1. Eat chocolate!
  • Done the lounge, filled out the forms, done most o9f the ironing and put half of it away!

Tomorrow i will clean bedroom 2 (aka dumping ground)......not a small task i assure you!
