    Hi rugbymum,

well done on the things you've sorted out so far :D , I was wondering if your children have been diagnosed with coeliacs ? My niece has it combined with diabetes  & although I know there isnt much help to be had with very expensive specialist food costs, my sister has made friends with a local chemist who is happy to give reduced prices on certain gluten free products.

As far as transport costs to hospital are concerned if you are receivng means tested benefits you might be able to reclaim something.

Failing that I hope that your Prince Charming whisks you away for a life of leisure very very soon ;) .

    good luck

Hi Rugby mum, I just wanted to say how appalled I am at the docs...i have only just found out that my sister who is disabled (cerebal palsy) doesn't always get the treatment she needs.

In fact when she moved areas and changed docs the doc who saw her (and is currently stillher doc) said he didn't want her on his books as she would be a drain on resources.....

Unfortunately since the gvt changed the funding rules GPs think they rule the world and will try & get out of prescribing anything! Sometimes it's just a quality of life issue & I have had to complain to the PCT more than once.
Tell your sister to be strong & take an advocate if necessary to her appointments. I did this a couple of times after our GP asked me if he was treating my son or me  . !!!!!!.......I was so angry and upset and hurt. I know my kids and there is this bloke telling me I'm mad!

thanks for that rugbymum...unfortunately she has spent a lot of her life fighting for things and this is one she doesn't feel important enough to make a stance on...

All she wanted was HRT patches instead of pills as they are supposed to be better for you in respect of weight gain (and she can't exercise), but they are more expensive and he won't prescribe them for her....

I would just knock his teeth down his throat!:rotfl:
