Awwww no, I already feel bad for accidentally poking the brains *sigh*.

Maybe I should throw a Lush bath bomb in to make up for it? :D

This thread is really making me smile, it brings back so many memories, especially the mention of the teeth, me and my three younger brothers used to compete as to how many we got each and how far we could spit them........

    Thanks all

    Lol!

    You guysare cracking me up!

Mine is a sucking pig. All cleaned and cooked. It was roasted over a fire. The ears were given to my dog.

But there was loads left over. Incl the head since nobody wanted to touch that. silly folks..

I have taken it out of the freezer now and will get on with it tomorrow.

    That reminds me....

My mum used to kill chickens herself (much to our neighbours horror) and I would play with the feet!
I thought that was great fun!.. WHen she had cut off the feet, if you were quick enough you could 'catch' the tendon still sticking out.
And if you pulled it, the claws would open and close.

I thought that was just hilarious!..

    Now I think: eeeuwww...

    lol!

See now I'm thinking you could make a really cool "grabber" (like a litter picker or one of those things that old people have to reach things on the floor) with chicken feet!! :O
  • we recently took our first 2 pigs to slaughter, and htey asked if we wanted the heads, but we said no, as we didnt know what to do with them.

We are going to rear some youngers for the spit roast etc, but Were thinking of not keeping the heads on...

by the way.... the meat from our pigs totally beat supermarket stuff hands down... will never buy that stuff again

One head piece brewed and picked clean, 2nd now in the pot (I have a small slow cooker and 3 pieces of head!).
There's some tasty lean meat and the brains (tried a nibble - very nice!), the dog can have the fatty bits! Some cracking stock too, though some is used for the jelly of the brawn.

I have pictures if anyone's brave enough...

    Go on, then...........
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.
