  • Another £800 into the pot for me this month.

I'm loving this final stretch, the numbers are dropping so quickly - each month seems to bring another little mini-goal to celebrate! :D This month my "effective" mortgage balance (outstanding mortgage minus savings) has just fallen below £10k!! :j:j:j

    Not long to go now!!

Only moved in last year and started overpaying in June and have op'd by around £500 each month since but still have a very long way to go. We are only 23 but still owe £84,000 and that's just on a shared ownership, feels like it will never end!

Got to buy the other half as soon as possible.

    I wish I had thought like you when I was 23 !

September overpayment of £157 has been sent, hopefully next month I can crank the repayments up again as I have been made full time at work so will have an extra £300 per month to throw at the mortgage:j
But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.
  • OP now reduced to £400 for October, total mortgage will now have gone under £120,000 :T:T

Please tell me that's more than just a plank of wood.

Bamboo / Carbon composite! Oh, and my stock went up again after hours on Friday. Can't wait until markets open tomorrow to see if it sticks. Might come out of this with a profit. :D

    4 More sleeps to go....

    Keep going everyone!
  • Another £185 quid, total now... £3,880 this year. Do we get to include the overpayments we set up by overpaying, if you get my drift?

£485 OP cheque will be taken to the bank today making it £2000 since we started overpaying in June. Averaging £500 a month is good for us as we don't earn bundles and we still like to go out quite often.

Really happy. I wish we had started when we moved in last year, could be at least double that by now but I have to say I'm happy we started overpaying, feels alot better than putting it in a savings account
