Another 'any ideas' thread... sorry!

I have no idea what to get my 'second' mum for Christmas! I moved away last year, so it's more difficult to pick up ideas during the year.
I know there are loads and loads of crafty bits etc on here, but it's way too much information to process and she loves pointless cool stuff... someone got her a cardboard baby last year! (smellies are out as she is a bit fussy)
I have already done the dressing gown, slippers, perfume, sheep shaped footstool route over the last year and she is only 44!
Her main present will be National Trust membership for a year just £15 through quidco!!) but I would like to have more for her to open... although kept to a minimum on cost!
Any ideas out there guys??? I am just totally stuck!

Does she read? You can pick up some great offers on books at the moment.
Magazine subscription?
MP3 player?
I usually get a gift bag full of books for my mum from the charity shop but she hasn't read the ones I got her for her birthday so have gone down the trusty hamper route this year
Officially a non-smoker but still rounder than recommended

Oops forget to mention, she is manager of a bookshop... so that is another option out!!

You can buy a certificate which says you have a plot of land on the moon! quite expensive though! Does she have a garden? if so what about a selection of bird feeders, with a mixture of seed and nuts and fat balls. Can be as cheap of expensive as you want as you could always add a bird bath or bird house. Or if she like chocolate what about a chocolate fondue with chocolate, marshmallows, strawberries and grapes? Or Lakeland do a jewelery cleaner thingy, or if she is on her own and enjoys her dinner on her lap what about a lap tray, again Lakeland do good quality ones a bit more expensive than the supermarket type but worth the extra.0

All brilliant ideas... but either she already owns or it's not applicable (her garden is a state!!!)

I guess I'm just going to have to ask her! Prefer a proper surprise but the NT membership should be good
Thanks for your suggestions :T0 -
how about a make you own perfume kit/session? Not sure how much hat would cost though!I want a perfect body, I want a perfect soul, I want you to notice when I'm not around0

I bought a friend of mine one of those lady titles so now she is lady Joyce. She was over the moon with it. I enclosed a small cheap plastic Tiara with it. There quite cheap now on some sites about £9.00 I saw some on Ebay. I paid £30.00 for mine a few years ago. But if your mum has everything this is quite a laugh0

How about a foodie basket/box/bag - tea and biscuits, coffee, chocolate, italian, chinese, indian... whatever you think she'd like. For e.g. tea and biscuits could be a teatray, mug/cup, nice teaspoon, coaster, teabags/leaf tea, biscuits... Or following this theme but get a rucksack, thermos flask, biscuits, little plate to go with the NT membership so she can pack a nice snack when she goes visiting all those stunning properties.
Can you get a book with all the National Trust properties in to go with her membership (or do you get this anyway with the membership???). If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -
Is she into craft stuff perhaps you could buy her some stuff for her to make eg for me some nice yarn would be a great presie or some beads to work with.Nothing Changes if Nothing Changes0
