Hi I used to spend £15 per week on lunch but now I do the following...

Mon - carton of soup from home/yoghurt or fruit
Tues - bring salad from home/yoghurt or fruit
Wed - sandwich from home/yoghurt or fruit
Thurs - ready meal from home/yoghurt or fruit
Fri - treat myself to a Subway or local homecooked cafe

All the food mon-thurs is purchased at Supermarket on weekend for approx £3-4 for the week! I spend about £2-3 on a Friday so that's a saving of £8-10 per week!!!! Have been doing this since January and have saved a fortune. The good thing is you probably buy this stuff with your weekly shop anyway so it's not buying 'extra' food.
if i had known then what i know now
  • I'm lazy and buy lunch from my cafeteria at work, costing about £3.50 each day. A nice new shiny lunch box set might give me the kick up the bum I need to prepare my own though. Better for my pocket and health!

    50p-£1

2 smart price tins of tomato soup and a bottle of water :D
  • about £2 for me and 3 kids
  • One thing I wanted to mention was the astronimical cost of my daughters school meals - £2.10 per day! way too prohibitive for us.

So packed lunch costs are around £1, thats only guessing.

I tend to buy whole packets of biscuits and portion down instead of those pre packed cereal bars and treat size bars - less waste too.
  • If I get lunch probably £2.50 or so.

  • HI,I SPEND ABOUT 20 AWK ON MY LUNCHS :money:
  • I tend to take food to work from home, or eat at home, so I don't spend very much, probably between £1 and £2.
