I have been off sick and getting Incapacity Benefit of £63.75 per week since July. I am waiting to have an operation and have a sick note until the end of December. This will probably be extended again until I have had and recovered from the operation and I am fit.
I live alone and have no other income so I took out 4 months payment holiday to use to pay mortgage etc.
The mortgage will be due again in December but I will still be off sick.
I have 3 credit cards - 2 which are 0% and one that is 4%. I also have an overdraft facility of £4000 of which I have used about £1500.
I have a 12 month gym membership which I have written and tried to cancel and I am waiting to hear from them.
When I am well enough to go to work I will be looking for a new job as we were made redundant last year and I worked on a temporary project for the local council until I was taken ill.
I feel really desparate as I cannot afford the monthly payments on the credit cards and I won't be able to pay the mortgage when it is due.
I am not in arrears with any bills or payments at the moment but panicking about what to do next.

Hi Kitty
I am certain firstly that even if you can't cancel your gym membership, oyu should be able to freeze it for a period of time while you cannot use it and suspend payments.
Secondly, go back to the job centre as you may be able to get mortgage interest relief, if not, have you asked your mortgage provider if you can go on an interest only mortgage?Aug GC £63.23/£200, Total Savings £00 -
Thanks milliemonster.
I was under the impression that you had to be claiming benefit for 39 weeks before you could get help with your mortgage.
My bank don't know that I am not at work at the moment so would that affect their decision to let me just pay the interest?NSK Zombie # SFD 7/15 Food Bank £0/£5
