Nothing really to report today. Still looking forward to making the 3 credit card payments on Friday. Bought a sofa and foot stool yesterday (much needed!) Which came to £548 which I thought wasnt too bad, and to make things even better, my SIL is giving us their £150 credit note from the same store as they said they wont need it. Paid £55 deposit, so only £343 left to pay in 5 weeks - wahoo!!Credit Cards at 0% £958.00Credit Card at 19.9% £2305.65Total Debt: [strike]£6290.76[/strike] £3263.65DFD: Dec 090 -

Just a thought - is it worth looking anywhere else for your sofas before you get them from DFS? You might find them cheaper elsewhere. I know it's 0% interest-free and it's very tempting (see sig!), but I hugely regret buying sofas on there with finance. Bought them in October 2006 - still paying and they don't look that great now...!
If you still have to buy sofas from there, then consider only buying one sofa or two small ones. Measure your space before you go and don't be swayed by pretty designs - stick to price! We bought a 2-seater and a 3-seater and if we had to buy from there again I would have bought a cheaper range, a smaller set and paid them off quicker!0 -
Hi,
I bought a 2 seater sofa for £359 and a footstool for £159. £518 in total. paid a £55 deposit - will pay the rest on delivery - I do not have finance on them. Luckily though my SIL and her bloke have a credit note for £150 for DFS and they do not want it and are giving it too us, so if all goes well and we can take it off our total, I only have £343 (inc. £30 delivery) left to pay. If we cannot to this then we will get another footstool. thanks xCredit Cards at 0% £958.00Credit Card at 19.9% £2305.65Total Debt: [strike]£6290.76[/strike] £3263.65DFD: Dec 090 -
