need help can't sleep

Please could somebody give me some advice on where to start - I have credit card debts of approx 20,000 pounds have a mortgage - interest only of 90,000 pounds which is in negative equity now - have tried to pay the minimum payments off my card payments but finding things really touch - my mortgage repayment is 500.00 pound per month - I am really feeling the pressure as I can't sleep and am suffering from depression not knowing which way to turn as I haven't got enough money to buy food and the basic essentials.

I amm full time employment but am finding it harder and harder to cope - I live on my own as my partner left me high and dry 3 years ago and it has got harder to pay everything on my own - I earn appro 1,200 per month.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Have a look at the CCCS website (sorry I cant do links!) (make sure it's CCCS not C-C-C-S) they are a charity who exist to help people like you and I and many other people on this site. There is a debt remedy thing you can fill in which gives you options it may well be you could do a Debt Management Plan I have one and I can afford to eat and pay my debts all be it at a reduced rate. CCCS can also help to get interest stopped. have a look now, many people on here will recommend tham good luck

  • thanks for that - have gone onto the CCCS website and tried to fill in my details but I can't seem to go further when I add my debts in - will try again - the first time I did it they referred me to their phone line so will give it another try - it is nice to be able to talk about my debts as I have hidden them for to long and need to pick myself up - being on my own is so daunting
  • thanks for your reply will log onto the sites you mentioned

    Hi Don't Know,
Welcome to the boards - there's lots of great advice here! I agree with NumptyMonkey you should post your SOA (statement of affairs) here so everyone can see your full picture and then the advice will flood in!
Don't panic, it's a very scary time but you CAN and WILL get through! For me the first few days after my LBM were awful but soon you will begin to see there are ways and means to cope with your situation.

the above unsecured debts should have also included debt to Egg Card for 6500.00 and Tesco Credit Card for 5000 which makes it look even worse - is there any point in carrying on with all this debt - I can't cope any longer with the worry

    Hi dontknowwhattodo.
Just wanted to say welcome - you are in the right place for all the help and support you need. If it's any consolation, I'm on my own with a mortgage and 27k of debts so I do know how you feel. It really is a struggle at times; sometimes it feels like trying to "push water up hill". It does get easier, believe me. I've had a lot of support from the good peeps on this forum.

I'm on a dmp with the CCCS and it's the best thing I've done. I now have a reasonable standard of living which I didn't before and can eat properly, which I didn't before.

Good luck and keep posting. We are all here to help.
