Is it just me or is anyone else a bit put off by the MFW and Savings boards sitting just below DFW?, I only say this cos while we're all dealing with our debts and struggling to pay them off and then I see posts titled '£300,000 in savings what do I do with it?' and 'yippee, I'm mortgage free!!!!' I feel all jealous and deflated:o
While I have absolute admiration for those who come to this site and look after their money so well, yes they should be proud of themselves, it doesn't make me feel any better about myself and the debts I have, yes I am jealous and envious and I'll openly admit that, I wish I was in their position, one day maybe

I don't think people are trying to make you jealous, it's just a good feeling when you can say you are mortgage free.
I am, but that's because I've got Multiplt Sclerosis, and took out a Critical Illness policy which paid up.
Yes, it's good to know the mortgage is paid, but I'd rather be healthy!I Believe in saving money!!!:T

Oh bless! You made me laugh then (don't know if that was the intention!?;) )
I know what you mean though. Perhaps we should just use it as in incentive.......**Keep Calm and Carry On!**0 -
Oh I know no-one is trying to make me jealous, I just am I guess!, its just hard seeing it in black and white how well some people have done (and I am genuinely pleased for them) and I would love to be paying off my mortgage earlierAug GC £63.23/£200, Total Savings £00

Would it work if you used those threads as inspiration? I.e. get your debts sorted and, one day, it could be you asking what to do with all your money...?0

Look on it as I do.
Once I've finished on this board I can move on to the next one. I'm moving down the ladder to safer ground from being on the top of a very wobbly ladder.
When I see posts of £300,000 what should I do with it? I always think lend it to me I'll pay you an amount of interest instead of paying the horrendous interest rates from some companies. Lol0 -
I agree with TotallyBroke...The way I see it is this, by gaining inspiration and the drive to reduce and eventually get rid of my debts, I can move onto the MFW boards and start gettig to grips with my mortgage.
So see it as an incentive to get to that board, rather than letting it annoy you, it should make you try even harder to get debt free...
One day it'll be us sittin down there discussing how little we have left to pay on the mortgage , and comparing our huge savings...lol
xx
Life is full of lessons...wish I had been awake in the one entitled 'Do you really need that stuff?'
