I found a site on here which was an alternative to ebay but i can't find it now and can't remember what it was called. I think it may have had skip in the title somewhere but i would love it if any one could tell me what it was. You choose you county and it shows everything on offer in your area. Thanks.

I'm not sure if it's quite what you're after, but http://www.gumtree.com/ and http://www.craigslist.org/about/sites both carry classified ads sorted by local area.
Also, Yahoo used to have an ebay-like site, but it closed last year.
