Nice DCA's??

Have you come across any yet?

My Marbles card has been passed onto a company called DLRS. They sent me letters which I didn't open and completely ignored but I was making payments to them monthly.

A few weeks ago I decided to bite the bullet and speak to them. Nice bloke who asked why I had got into debt, explained and said OK, we'll accept token payments but you need to send us an income and expenditure form and we'll be in touch.

Form came and sent back but had another call, nice lady this time. Told her I&E had been sent back, I could afford the token payment until Fri so she said "Fine, I'll put a hold on your account and we'll speak in a few weeks once we receive your form"

I did feel like a weight had been lifted off my shoulders, they know the reasons why I am struggling, are happy to accept my token payments and are very friendly when I speak to them.

  • Glittermonkey, it is good to hear tha there are some decent ones out there, we always get the ones that are veing awful (for obvious and legitimate reasons) and it is good to hear another experience

Well done for biting the bullet and congrats on a good outcome

They are fine ,until you provide a income and expenses form .If they think you can afford to pay more ,that's when they apply pressure . Everyone on the forum advises not to contact DCA by phone ,letter only , once they have your number they will pester you . It is probable they only paid 10-20 p in the pound for your account , so will be happy if you pay a reasonable amount . But you will find they add interest so the debt will never reduce . Sorry to be negative , but I speak from experience.

My I&E form actually shows I can afford less than what I originally offered.

They already had my number from HSBC and pstered me more before I called them. Since I have called them I've only had one call from them, so on the whole pretty good.

Al interest has been stopped by all DCAs, I've been passed onto payment bureau services, DLRS and Robinson Way.
