"Our May prediction of a 7% correction now looks wide of the mark, but trying to update that is now futile," said Bernard Clarke of the CML.
That's quite a huge statement if you think about it.

"We don't want to set off a panic in the housing market by telling you what we really think.
And if we tell you the usual tepid nonsense we'll have lost all credibility in six months time."0 -
A safe prediction is that prices are going to go DOWN, DOWN, DOWN0

"At the start of 2007 many experts were forecasting that prices this year would stabilise or possibly rise very slightly."
Weren't Nationwide and HBOS predicting this at the start of 2008?
As its looking like a real life drop of around Ooooo (puts wet finger in the air) 18% this year, its looking a bit grim for some people.

I have been with 50% for years, however I am now starting to change my mind after listerning to many independant economists. They are talking of 60-70% falls taking into count overcorrection. This view is increasingly being stated over the last couple of months and again yesterday at the end of the comodity watch radio podcast.
