Had a busy weekend. Did my monthly shop and batch cooking. Have made cottage pies and lasagnes. Planned my meals for the next 3 weeks. (we are away over Christmas)Debt free and Keeping on Track0

I've done a very brave thing today (for me anyway) and have added up my CC debt. It comes to £10,063.17. So I've updated my siggy and instead of paying off £10K by next Christmas will aim for £10,063.17:eek:Debt free and Keeping on Track0

Just paid £100 off the Egg card - yay already under the £10k mark!Debt free and Keeping on Track0

Didn't manage an NSD today - knew it would be a difficult month.
Listed DH's dinner jacket and trousers on Ebay (he has lost weight and its too big now). He only wore it once. If I manage to sell it then I will put that money towards the CC debt. So far no one is watching it - but hopefully there will be a flurry at the end.
I've got an ominous pain in my mouth - I suffer with my teeth and am terrified it means the dentist - not because of the pain (I'm used to that:D ) but because of the cost. I couldn't get an NHS dentist and have to go private. Its a very good dentist and they will always see me at short notice. I do have some kind of plan with them where I pay £11 per month and that entitles me to two check ups plus hygenist per year plus 10% off any treatment. Even so its always a CC job when I have to go:eek: I've just given my teeth a good clean plus loads of mouthwash so hopefully its just because its cold outside!
Had jacket potato and beans and cheese for tea tonight.
Lunches are already made for tomorrow and clothes sorted.Debt free and Keeping on Track0 -
Thank goodness the pain in my mouth has subsided!
Really busy at work today.
Busy this evening with Christmas decorations. We have an artifical tree with lights already on it. Of course the usual thing has happend and half the lights are not working. Why is it that when you put the deccies away after Christmas with everything in working order that when you get them out they don't work? DH is busy trying to fix it, but its a long and tedious process, testing each bulb and there must be a couple of hundred! I'm having to be extra nice to him.:D
I've put up a couple of sets of fairy lights and a festive arch. Am not going to bother too much as the tree is quite big, but also we are away for Christmas.Debt free and Keeping on Track0 -
Glad to see that your teeth have settled down - you haven't been clenching them have you because that sometimes causes pain?
I think I will put my tree up this weekend, I wont be at home for most of Christmas but it is nice to put the tree up. In fact I shall be having two trees - I shall put up my fibre optic one too (I have had it for years), I was going to put up the white one that I got from Woolies but it is having to go back because it has a huge bend in the main stem from where they rammed it into the box and now it won't stand up:mad:0 -
Hello Horace - yes I think I clench and grind my teeth at night. I am quite busy at work at the moment and maybe I have been clenching them through stress?:D
Sorry to hear about your white tree - will you get another?
DH is still working on the tree - he's on the third and final section now, but its the bottom bit and therefore the biggest!! I;m keeping him sweet - just given him half a BIG bar of Dairy Milk.;) Looking at it, its an enormous tree. The only place for it is behind the sitting room door, so we have to be caeful when opening the door and then to turn the lights off you have to squeeze between the tree and the tv:eek: Happy Days!!Debt free and Keeping on Track0 -
Things are not going very well money wise at the moment - everything else is fine though!
Am finding it quite difficult to stick to a budget - over spent today as had to buy a couple of extra Christmas pressies and also two birthday gifts. As I had then gone over budget"blow it" and then bought fish and chips for lunch!
I didnf't go as mad as I could have done, but its very small comfort.
DS is going on a school trip in April and I need to find £125 by next week (already have £100 from fam allowance) so its not that bad, but he also needs a new passport - the old one expires in August and finding out whether or not it will be accepted in April is like getting a blood out of a stone. Have decided it will be best to re-new so thats another £46.
Also quite cross as I haven't been able to pay any extra onto my 10K by next Christmas challenge. Hopefully January will be more settled money wise. I am moaning on but I know everyone else is in the same boat.
Anyway - enough of that. I'm watching MOrse and DH is cooking dinner, bangers and mash (one of our favourites). I've also pushed the boat out and had a glass of sherry - only one as the bottle is now empty:D
The tree is finally in situ and looks fantastic will all the lights now working and the tinsel and decorations are on there. I have also got 5 cholocate "Deleted_User" on there. Got them today - they are so expensive and I always say I buy them for DS but its always me who ends up eating them:D
This evening I am also writing Christmas cards and wrapping all the pressies!Debt free and Keeping on Track0 -
Feeling a bit down today, which doesn't happen very often. Just a bit fed up and feeling I've got very low esteem. Just feel I've not been exercising lately and really need to lose some weight.
Made some muffin dough in the bm last night and left it to cold rise in the fridge, so had hm muffins for breakfast - lovely. After DS and DH had had theirs, there are six leftover - so I've buttered them and put some ham and cheese in them and put them in the fridge. AT lunchtime I will get the George Foreman out and press them flat in that and warm them through just to make the sandwich a bit more interesting!
The slow cooker is on and there are chicken legs, leaks, onions, sweetcorn and spices tomatoes cooking away for dinner tonight. I've got some leftover cooked pasta which I'm going to throw in for the last half hour. Also got some leftover mash from yesterdays dinner, have mixed that with some flour and made them into 6 potato cakes. Haven't decided yet whether to griddle those to go with the chicken tonight, or use them up for tomorrow night's tea - depends on hungry we feel later on I suppose!
We are going down to the pub late afternoon for the switch on of the lights and also to see Father Christmas and get a mince pie and a glass or two or even three of something nice!
DH has said we'll go for a walk soon - we'll have a brisk walk over the cliffs which always makes me feel a bit better. Some good fresh air (sun is shining here) and also to try and get a bit of fitness.
DH has promised to sort out the Wii Fit and put it in the spare room upstairs. This will mean I go use that to my heart's content. At the moment its quite awkard as its on the main TV in the sitting room and I have to "book" a slot to use it, then rush through it as I feel that DS and DH are champing at the bit to watch TV!!
Re-reading about why am I so fed up? Actually feel much better after writing this up.
Later on I'll be getting lunch ready for tomorrow and sorting out all my clothes for the working week. This week I've also got a night away with work colleagues, stopping in a nice hotel with a swimming pool. I'm taking my cozzy with me so can do a bit of exercise there!Debt free and Keeping on Track0 -
All my diaries entries are mainly food related! I think I'm more concious of that now as I am shopping on a budget and trying to be inventive.
I was reading Weezel's threads on the OS Board - she and her hubby are surviving on 50p per day for food! She is really amazing and quite inspirational.Debt free and Keeping on Track0
