    Hi Horace,

    Your Christmas tree sounds lovely.

I didn't make my nsd target for last month so am determined this month.

Just off to post on Strumpet's diary about my nsds ..........

Another nsd for me today:j Am so pleased as I managed to do four in a row and so met my own small target! One more to go and I've done it.:T I will do that one day next week - actually it might be Sunday.

Cottage pie for dinner tonight - its cooking in the oven now. then I shall "fiddle" around on the internet, watch a bit of TV and collapse into bed as another working week is over.

In the post tonight was a statement re my mortgage saying I only had 9 years and 1 month to go before its paid - which is great as I thought it was another 11 years:T If only I didn't have the credit card debts and personal loan...... but hey I don't want to dwell on that - I'm doing something positive about it all now.

  • Why does pride always come before a fall? I was bragging about how pleased I was not to have had to use my credit card for three months and now I'm going to have to. Something unforseen has cropped up with DH's motorbike. Its his main form of transport and he uses it everyday.

I've been doing so well but I know things crop up every now and again. The only problem is I have our money screwed down so tight trying to pay as much off cc's as possible that there isn't very much left over.

I'm so annoyed, but its just one of those things. I think I just have to admit that my DFW journey is going to be a long one - I think I will liken it to a hurdle race. Now and again there are going to be obstacles, some I'll be able to jump easily, other are going to be quite hard and some almost impossible. Why is it all these things happen at once and why always at Christmas time?

On a happier note on Saturday I was able to find a free parking space in a road rather than using the car park and on Sunday I noticed a book of 1st class stamps on the ground I picked it up and there were two unused stamps in it.:j so I do have good luck as well.

Aiming for an NSD today and so far so good.....

Feeling much better today about the CC spend after Strumpet's nice comments to me on his diary.

Ended up not having an nsd today mainly for two reasons firstly, fed up about the cc and secondly as I have reached my target I thought "I can spend", which of course is the wrong attitude! However kept it low and spent £3.10 on lunch.

Am more organised tonight and have ready lunch for tomorrow, sausage rolls (home made), soup, banana, and a couple of home made biscuits for the mid morning and mid afternoon snack.

Today I've joined the pay £10K off by Christmas 2009 challenge. If I can do that it means I've paid my cc debts. Am determined to give it a go.:D

Managed to get a programme to work on my computer so i can make my own birthday cards - although what I save in buying the card I'll probably spend in ink.:D

Had some brilliant news this morning. DH has had a £2k pay rise backdated to April. So after thinking I was a bit rash in joining the pay £10k off by Christmas 2009 I now think its going to be possible!

Have to pick DS up from the way home from work as he is playing basketball after school. Meanwhile, back at the ranch, DH will be cooking dinner. We are right down to the knuckle with food as our monthly shop is due this Saturday - so we are having pizza as I found home made dough in the freezer, topped with a veggie mush mixture (also found at the bottom of the freezer) which I mixed with a tin of spaghetti. All that topped off with grated cheese and the "cherry on the top" is 8 small onion bargees!!!!

4 Months ago we would have gone out to celebrate the rise and probably spent at leat £80 on a meal out with drink without thinking - now that extra dosh is going straight to one of the CCs.

Thanks Horace - I am delighted! I always say "what's mine is mine and what's his is mine"!! Joking aside all our money goes into one pot and I am in control of it. DH is worse than me with money and that's saying something.

DH has gone to pick his bike up this afternoon and then we'll know exactly how much we owe (at least DH has got some back pay to go towards it)! Once that is done I'm going to do a bit of money juggling over the weekend - re-vamp my personal SOA updating to include DH's rise then I'm going to update my siggy with my CC debts so I can start fresh on Monday morning 1st December to hack into that debt for my £10K by next Christmas challenge.

Dinner tonight is home made potato wedges, scrambled eggs and baked beans - one of my favourite meals.
