I won £63 on the lottery with 4 numbers - so that is half towards the brake pads and stuff :)

No nod today as DH and I treated ourselves to fancy coffees and bacon muffins at Costa with some of our winnings.

Have put 3 items on Ebay and am looking/sorting some old DVDs to go onto Ebay later.

Haven't had an NSD for a few days now - need to get back on it especially as it is February on Friday :)

Still eating from freezer - tonight 2 of us had spring rolls, hm chips and baked beans and the third had scampi (only half bag in freezer), hm chips and baked beans :)

Pay day tomorrow so will check banking and then a few days later will update CC payments - no extra payments as such made this month but am paying more than minimum on the cards.
Tomorrow is hm cottage pie from the freezer.

Mrs P, your plans and efforts seem similar to mine. I fall off the wagon sometimes too!

Hi Jazee, thanks for stopping by! Good to know I am not the only one - little steps (and some backwards), but we will get there in the end :)

Well a mixed start to the month.

    On the plus side:

    Made £73 on Ebay

    Had an NSD today

No nsd today. Did my main shop in Lidls and then a top up with stuff I couldn't get there at Sainsburys.

Got a bit upset when I spoke to Dad who has his op on Thursday. Then went shopping and DH bought me some bits and pieces from M&S. It was really nice and I know he did it to make me feel a bit better - but it was still £60 that I shouldn't really have spent. I will catch up later in the month :)

Dinner tonight was curry left overs which I had frozen from last weekend and was even tastier than the day it was cooked.

Evening is being spent in front of TV - mainly DVDs and Netflix as there doesn't seem to be "anything on TV".

We also bought the paint for the bedroom - saved £15.98 on that as it was 2 cans for £22 in B&Q.

No nsd for me today - the College vending machine forced me to part with some money for a chocolate bar :)

Dad had his operation on Thursday night - I called the hospital on Friday morning and they said he had had a good night. We decided to go and see him so after work drove the 3 hours to Bristol and stayed overnight in a premier inn and had dinner there. We completed the journey this morning - saw Dad who looked absolutely fantastic - was sitting in a chair by the bed talking to the man in the next bed. Apart from the drip stuff in his arm you wouldn't know he had had such a big op. Am so pleased. It cost us almost £200 counting the premier inn, food and petrol but I don't care it was worth every penny - I cannot tell you how relieved I am.

We will visit again over Easter holidays and hopefully he will be home by then. He is going to be out of hospital later in the week and will stay with my brother and his family for a couple of weeks.

Am staying in tomorrow so it will be an NSD. We are going to crack on with the bedroom (well DH will). There is a lot of moss on the front drive so I am going to try and hoe and brush it away as it looks awful - let's hope its a fairly dry day.

Dinner tonight was curry - not hm but shop bought from Asda on the way back from seeing Dad. tomorrow will probably be pancakes for brunch as we will have a lie in. We often have pancakes at the weekend. Dinner tomorrow will be hm lasagne. Nothing to do with the Findus fiasco - I had planned to make it before that news broke! I got my mince from the butchers and it says it is 100% Scottish beef - let us hope so :)

Despite the fact I stayed in today I cannot claim an NSD. I bought two curtain poles for the bedroom and some little Humbrol enamel paints. We have a cockerel bell pull at the front door and he had rusted up a bit. DH has cleaned him off and soldered him and he is now ready to be painted. I have had fun buying some different colours and will paint him this week.

DH has painted two of the bedroom walls and they look fab - as a consequence I have bought 2 new curtain poles from Ebay. It is looking like this time next week our bedroom will be finished.

I have baked a marmalade loaf in my bread maker (thanks MF) and some home made breadsticks. DH has made some home made garlic butter and we will have it with the warm breadsticks and the hm lasagne which is cooking in the oven as we speak. I will serve the lasagne with peas and sweetcorn.

Packed lunches ready for tomorrow. DH is having leftover curry from last night's tea; DS sandwiches and I am having a tin of WW soup with some soda bread.
