Maybe at the end of the year I'll feel brave enough to total up all my unsecured debt.Debt free and Keeping on Track0

Bad news is that last week I had to use the Egg card again
Still need to update total exactly but Egg is now around £1,600 and the MBNA around £4,600.
Off to try and do a revised SOA.
Still feeling fairly positive I suppose - just have flashes where it all gets me down. I need the be determined and stay determined I'm so easily pulled off track.
Keep feeling positive MrsP, I know you can do it

Know what you mean about being scared to total everything up:o I think I was hiding my head thinking that all I had admitted to was my total, but it wasn't:o
Ok, so it scared me but know I know exactly what I have to do:eek: no idea as yet how to get there but i know that i will.
You can definately get the Mrs P.Proud to be dealing with my debt:eek:
TOTAL: £6,437 (04/01/2013) slowly but surely it is decreasing:D0 -

Just had a nice surprise - I thought my council tax was coming out in Feb and March as I had asked for over 12 months, but no - it finished last month - so I have two months "extra" which will come in very handy for doing some PADS.
This weekend am going to sort out all my paperwork - shred all old stuff that I don't need and collate everything together.
Yesterday sorted out my car insurance and am going with Swift as it was £150 less than Aviva and was exactly the same cover, same excess and also legal cover so am paying monthly and am about £10 per month better off with that.
Feeling very motivated now - know I can do it, just have to keep pressing forward.Debt free and Keeping on Track0 -
Well - what can I say - I've come home to some brilliant news - my fantastic Dad has sent me a cheque for just over £2,000. Of course, the first thing I did was phone him straight away - at peak time but I had to.
so once that clears that will be the Egg card paid off. The extra I will save towards paying off the MBNA - interest free till November and at the moment I am paying the minimum off. I thought I would save up as much as I can and then pay that off in one hit.
So far so good.
Thanks Dad.:T:TDebt free and Keeping on Track0 -
Saturday
Done the usual houseworky jobs.
Have spent lots of time sorting out my paperwork and have a massive bag of it ready for shredding. I borrowed the shredder from work and DH will spend the evening feeding it all in
I am writing a list of the loans I have and am trying to find settlement figures so I can update the whole sad and sorry saga. Very interesting - two of the places I called could not give me a settlement figure (as that office is only open Mon-Fri 9 - 5) but they could give me more money

Oh dear I won't be paying all of the Egg card off

I got a bit carried away and have booked a weekend away for DH's birthday in April and I have bought myself a nice Kenwood mixer - no I didn't need one, but I have wanted one for over 2 years now and always resisted. I also wanted to do something for DH's birthday as we never really celebrate birthdays.
Another thing which has bothered me is that I finally sorted out all my paperwork and found out that the mortgage and a big loan don't get paid off till 2017 - now they are all substantial payments each month and without even one of them it would be life changing money-wise. So I suppose I just got a bit fed up and having that cheque from Dad I just thought Why not?
However, positive stuff:
I will pay more than half off the Egg - will update towards the end of the week when the cheque clears and I can see what is what.
Have got a couple of bits to Ebay.
Have still got my shed full of stuff to boot fair.
Now I've got my lovely mixer I won't have to buy cakes I can make my own at a fraction of the cost

Just paid £921.72 off the Egg - which brings balance down to £800 - I'm back on track hopefully

Hey MrsP don't beat yourself up about spending some of the money on yourself... we all deserve a treat every now and then.
You have managed to pay off more than half of it :j
