Hi Buddibabe - don't get me started on prescription charges - I have worked all my life sometimes 2 or 3 jobs and i get really annoyed that I have to pay!

I'm afraid I was tempted into Sainsbury's again tonight:

spend at Siansburys £7.24 for a load of reduced fresh veg :) and a bottle of Cava full price (its my weakness) :)

Oh dear :( Things not going too well, but on the plus side - they could be a lot worse.

I'm afraid that I've had to use the old credit cards again - and I'm not happy with myself at all. The bulk of it is on 0% till November 2011.

looking back on this year I haven't done too much with the debt busting - in fact did increase a bit as I had to have a new car (well I suppose I didn't really HAVE to).

    Positive stuff:

Will be going into January with no overdraft.
mortgage has now come off fixed rate and is on variable which at the moment is 1.5% for my bank so I will be £71 better off each month. That extra is going towards the Egg cc which is on interest.

    Aims for 2011

Do a realistic SOA (already done)
    Stick to SOA
    Pay off Egg cc first

Hold a boot fair once weather changes (loads of stuff in shed for selling)
January - see if I can find anything to Ebay - clothes etc.
Contact university to see if I can get another student teacher

Am really looking forward to christmas now -especially as we are going away this year to a nice hotel (paid for back in February when i got a student teacher). Am so glad that I did this now. I've even managed to save spending money - although all the food is included so its just drinks etc.

Here's to the New Year and to me being more MSE savvy than ever and trying to pay off as much as possible.

This year I have decided to try and concentrate on three of my smaller debts - maybe if I can break things down it won't seem so daunting:

    1. Lloyds - £400 (aim to pay this off by middle of February)
    2. Egg - around £800 - need to check exact figure
    3. MBNA - around £4,600 - again need to check exact figure.

My aim is to pay off the Lloyds in February - I have almost got the money saved to pay this off. It was a small buy now pay later and I have till April to pay but want to get shot of it.

The Egg - aiming to pay that off before June.

MBNA - this is on interest free till November 2011 - now it will need a miracle to pay the whole lot off by then but I am aiming to try and reduce that debt by at least half by that date.

We have decided not to take any holidays this year - maybe just a night or so away - last year we went away 3 times which is why I ended up using the CCs again.

This is the year to get organised and get debt-busting!

Feeling really rough with a bad cold the last two days I have felt really poorly - do feel quite a lot better today though and tomorrow I'm back at work - yuck - although I always like to get back to normal so after a day or two I'll have settled back in :)

    Hey MrsP Happy New Year

Did you have a nice break away? Sorry to hear your not feeling well especially with so much to do. I've got what seems to be a combination of some bug and the cold but am not going to let it win.... am back in the shop tonight and back at proper job 2moro with no let up till Sunday...

That's good setting yourself some targets i have every faith that you will meet them.... we are all going to have a good 2011 :D

Organisation is the key.... i've spent the last 2 days organising the fridge, freezer, cupboards and my toiletries stash.... when i stopped counting i had 418 items :o  :o

I've signed up for a few challenges this year which are keeping me focused at the moment but then again it is only the 4th :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Looking forward to hearing your updates

Good news is today I have paid off the £429 loan to Lloyds.

Bad news is that last week I had to use the Egg card again :(

Still need to update total exactly but Egg is now around £1,600 and the MBNA around £4,600.

Off to try and do a revised SOA.

Still feeling fairly positive I suppose - just have flashes where it all gets me down. I need the be determined and stay determined I'm so easily pulled off track.

OK - here are the balances that I want to aim to pay off as much as possible by December of this year:

    Egg £1,730.83

    MBNA £4,630.00

So there it is in all its glory. :) The MBNA is on interest free till Nov this year so will concentrate on the Egg first.
